Car
So I have a new Panasonic car stereo. And I also have what I was counting on, because I know my father.... a washed, vacuumed, fully serviced car. The car is all sparkly clean, inside and out.
This has the added benefit of pissing my mother off, because she doesn't like it when he does stuff like that for me. So nyah to Mom. (The favorites game has never been a secret in my house - Mom favors my sister because she's The Pretty One, Dad favors me because I'm The Smart One.)
Mayfly Time
Neil Gaiman used that phrase in his blog recently, to describe how the internet works; half an hour on the internet is a few months in the real world, in terms of life cycle.
I think I live in mayfly time; I always have. Yesterday was me cycling through a set of responses that takes normal people weeks. Sorry if I gave you whiplash. It's all cool now.
This also affects the communication thing. I'm high-maintenance when beginning a friendship or relationship. I need to know that you're thinking of me, that we're on the same page, at least once a day, or I feel forgotten, marginalized. Once I'm secure in where I am with you, I don't need such constant reassurance.
You will notice that, if you know me in person, I'll touch you a lot - just lightly, a hand on your arm or back or hair; like Pooh and Piglet, I just want to be sure of you.
That's where a lot of my current yo-yoing has come from....
Plans
Tonight - Edo, then coffee.
Tomorrow: Freaky Friday withirana and Taylor
Saturday sometime:vidicon and I are trying to schedule some time to hang out!
Sunday night: Phone date withpenguinboi.
These weekend plans actually do leave me with more time than I'm accustomed to! Which will be a Good Thing... I owe Elayna a couple of rounds of Clue, and I want to watch A Little Princess with her - and she wants to get her ears pierced before school starts.
