It's a bit outdated, at least. It says Topomax hasn't received approval yet, and I know it has.
I like this bit, though: Most will mess with your memory and cognitive processes - at first. Although Topamax (topriamate) and Zonegran (zonisamide) are by far the worst offenders in that category. Notice something, the ones that make you skinny also make you stupid. Hence my labeling them as "supermodel drugs."
Topomax is colloquially referred to among those of us who take it as "Stupimax". 'Tis why I also have to take Provigil - it clears up the brain fog that the Topomax causes. Which is something you might want to consider, yourself. Ask your doctor about Provigil (the page for it on that handy site is http://www.crazymeds.org/provigil.html) to help clear up the brain fog that comes with the drugs you have to take.
Though now I have to say THANK YOU for pointing out this site, as this section I didn't know: Anticonvulsants are rash medications. I'm sure I read it at one point, as I've read *all* the available info on the meds I was taking, but it's been nearly two years now since I first research Topomax (been a year since I stopped taking it, and will be starting again sometime in the next few months) and I either discounted it at first or forgot. I know I'm having serious skin problems that started back when I was on the drugs and never has gone away. It doesn't respond to my psoriasis cream or to athlete's foot cream. The only thing I can do to keep it under check these days is to take lots of antihistamines to keep it from itching and lotion to keep it from getting dry and painful cracking. *sigh*
Bwahaha! I was warned about the possibility when I started taking it, and my doc told me that if it had that side effect on me (it doesn't for everyone) that there was something we could try...so when I did go brain-foggy, she gave me the Provigil, and it cleared it right up. Was certainly thinking clearer than I do on depression-days. Sure, it doesn't give that bright and sparkling sharpness that mania does, but mania isn't *rational*, either, it just feels like it at the time.
