That book keeps coming up in conversations with me. (I just found out that apparently [livejournal.com profile] hypnogun has written a song about this book for his next album. I'm very, very curious to hear it.)

It's one of those things that, like Neil Gaiman's Coraline, is a story you can read to little kids but when you really start thinking about it as an adult, it becomes pretty terrifying. Think about it - the book is about being afraid of yourself, really. It's kind of psychologically heavy.

It's really funny that you mentioned it, cause just yesterday I saw a lady purchasing that book, and I loved reading it when I was little.

This is one of Caroline favorite books. I do a fair Grover but my younger brother has one that is dead on. He read it to her and she was in giggles.

OMG!! We loved that book! I got my son to come down from his lair and showed him...he perched on my lap (well, knee) and we read it together :) I remember reading it to him when he was about 2 and him shrieking with laughter. He's 20 now, and we still laughed.
Thanks :)
