Hello to new friend [livejournal.com profile] luckychance, who I met at my party! (When I add someone first, it's almost always because I met them at a party, usually mine of [livejournal.com profile] karlita's...)
Happy day-late birthday to [livejournal.com profile] averyslave!
Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] nalidoll! [livejournal.com profile] nalidoll wants boobie pics. Everyone go flash her.

That fill-in-the-blank meme
This iteration lifted from [livejournal.com profile] mightywombat...
[Poll #108538]

Cross-pollination
Several of you have requested that your friends recommend other people to read, sometimes just because you want more people. If you want people to add you, post in comments. This can be just an "add me, I want more LJ friends!" or it can be a bullet-pointed list of all the ways that you rock and why everyone should be reading you, or anything in between, your choice.

Things getting done
We unpacked! 100%! Shopping bags and all! Go us! But my Willard poster is missing. *sob* What I *have* to do today is get to Target and pick up Lilo & Stitch party invitations. I have got to get those out this week, hopefully tomorrow.

Recaps of the party can be found here, here, and here; quotes again are here....

...and pictures are here. Have at.

I'm always just absolutely certain that I'm not very memorable. So it's always a surprise to me when people recognize me. I was recognized by three retailers at the Con, and also by David Mack and Ahn Tran (writer/artist of Kabuki, and his girlfriend). Maybe it's the height? I don't know. But it's always a pleasant surprise!

In the comments regarding this picture, [livejournal.com profile] raevnos and [livejournal.com profile] technoshaman strongly suggested that I consider doing a calendar and selling it on LJ. I'm thinking that that might not be a horrible idea, as I could donate the proceeds to a charity, maybe RAINN, less printing/mailing costs.

So. Questions. Is there actual interest in a calendar beyond these two guys? Should this be a me calendar, or a "Women of LJ" calendar? I do have lots of beautiful women on my friends list. Does anyone know how much it costs to get one printed up? The Kinkos website doesn't have pricing. :( Ideas for poses? Mostly... would anyone actually want this thing?

Okay. I'm making it a formal poll. I am actually willing to coordinate this, provided that the proceeds go to charity (probably RAINN), and provided that enough people would want the damn thing to make it worth my while. So let me know. These would be 12-month calendars for 2004.

*handwave* these aren't the calories you're looking for. )

Buffy and the lack thereof
No new Buffy, Smallville, or Gilmore Girls tonight! If you Buffy Night regulars just cannot break the habit, you may come over and watch Amelie with us. Or whatever.

TMBVD
What is it with kids today showing their underwear? We have these two student workers, one male, one female, and the boy wears his pants halfway down his ass, like literally, I could see the boy's anus if he wasn't wearing underwear. And the girl always has the thong peeking out and like acres of flesh between her shirt and her pants, and she does *not* have the body to pull it off, let me tell you. And bra straps, bra straps everywhere. I know it seems odd coming from a girl who likes to be naked as much as possible, but when you're outside your house, your underwear should not be showing, IMO.

Notes to self
Retrieve [livejournal.com profile] elorie's novel from the living room floor; put it in my bookbag so I can read it at lunch tomorrow. Go to Target, probably after 8 so I don't have to deal with rush hour traffic, to buy my sister's birthday gift and Elayna's party invitations. Determine what we need from Oriental Trading Company for Elayna's party and order it. Meditate. Start working on ritual to call the universe's attention to the fact that shitty things are happening to my friends and it's not fair and they do not deserve this shit and it needs to go full reverse right now, dammit.

1. This would not be a nude calendar. If y'all want to do a nude calendar, go ahead, but I'm not doing one.

2. All proceeds beyond actual printing/mailing costs will be going to RAINN, the Rape and Abuse National Network. The only way I'll be talked into allowing pics of myself to be printed and sold is if it's a charity fundraiser. No "models" will be paid; your appearance is a charitable donation. Again, obviously I don't own the idea of printing custom calendars, so anyone who wants to can go do one on their own and keep the money, but mine is a charity fundraiser.

3. There is no 3, only Zuul. And now I'm going for a walk.
