Got to hang out with morenasangre and farren, who I just don't get to see enough; finally got to just curl up on the couch and talk to morenasangre, a practice that I highly recommend. *beam* They've made it back home safely, as have bheansidhe, vidicon, and mightywombat, who will hopefully be over tomorrow night to regale me with tales of LunaCon and deliver my birthday gift from murnkay. Spoke to murnkay on the phone last night - he was very much like a hummingbird on crack. Then had my phone date with penguinboi - did not short circuit him this time. Much. But I increased the rutilation on the quartz he was wearing in an attempt to keep himself grounded. *grin*

*blink* *blink* My, that was stream-of-consciousness.

Today
Got a major project, so I may not be on here much. Plus my boss Spoke To Me re: time spent online. *eyeroll* My opinion is that if they don't give me work to do, why should it matter what I'm doing, but hey. I'll acquiesce. And anyway, today I *do* have work to do.

I recommend reading TwoHeadedCat when they update it, sometime today. This is the week with mightywombat, dnotenshi, et al, if I remember correctly. Keep checking. But don't bug the Monkey if it takes a while; he had an intense weekend!

This Weekend

A note about me and telephones

I'm phone-phobic. So if I never call you, it's not that I don't adore you; it's that I'm phone-phobic and will avoid calling people at all costs.

I'm only *not* phone-phobic when I'm 100% sure of who's going to pick up that phone. I'll call vidicon or penguinboi on their cell phones - no one will pick up their cell phones but them. I won't call mightywombat, because that's a three-person phone line.

The result of this is that I only have like 4 people that I'm secure enough to call, so when I'm starved for a human voice, I bombard them. Heh. Sorry.

But yes. Don't feel insulted that I don't call you, don't think I don't care. We can e-mail!

My neck and upper back already hurt from this project. My lower back is going to hurt when I start filing, as the file drawer is the lowest to the ground.

Request for help

yendi's grandmother just passed away.

He'll post about this later. My heart hurts for him... he loved this woman dearly...

The request for help: The funeral is tomorrow, so he's flying out to Arizona tomorrow morning. He needs to leave the house by 5:45 at the latest to get to the airport on time. I can't get him there - I need to get Elayna ready for, then get her to, school. Can anyone help? If you can drive him to the airport or the MARTA station, you can stay at our house tonight, make it easier. He'll be coming home Thursday late afternoon/early evening, and I'll ask for help picking him up with I have further details on that.

So. Tomorrow morning. 5:45 at the latest. We can get him a cab if we have to, but we would really appreciate a ride from a friend. Let me know.

EDIT: He has a ride, thanks to thegreyman. He'll post about this later this afternoon; he wants to gather his thoughts.

I feel like I should be doing more for yendi and his mom. I've arranged for his rides to and from the airport, I'm going to bake for him - he'll have fresh cookies and breads when he gets back - but... I feel helpless. If his mom and grandmother were local, I'd be in a flurry of activity, calling caterers and florists and and and stuff. That's the stuff you do. But this is all happening clear across the country, so there isn't much that I *can* do except arrange to get him there and send a condolence card to his mom...
