reprobayt -- What's your next personal conquest?

Taking the comics world by storm with my rock-star self!

amokk -- If the world were to end in 24-48-72-96 hours, what would you do in the remaining time?

When Isaac Asimov was asked what he would do if he found out he would die in one month, his reply was "Write faster." I'm going to have to go with that, too.

The answer to a question that no one asked because everybody knows, but it should go in the FAQ:

Q. How short are you, anyway?
A. 4'11".

The script for the first eight pages of Shayara, for probable hopeful publication in a certain comics anthology, has been sent to my artist.

I could sit and worry at it and polish it forever, but if I do, he'll never get the chance to draw it, and no one else will ever see it. It's good. It's very good, it's cinematic. Being as I only have eight pages to work with, I trimmed down my excess of two-page spreads in order to give more space to Shawn and the the city of Shayara, with a few tantalizing lines to pique curiosity in what the hell this is all about, anyway.

My hands are off. Whew.

I may post it members-only in [livejournal.com profile] shayara. We'll see. For now, just.... breathing.

EDIT: [livejournal.com profile] aussie_nyc has described it as "scary and lovely". Yay!

On one level, I fear actual publication and readership of my story; I'm content to follow trains of thought around Shayara, through generations, through layers of persona. To have it as my private world. Once it's published... it's not my private world anymore. And I have to present it in a linear way, and things become less mutable, less malleable.

The upside is that I get to share the story, that the rest of you know what Katrianna goes through, what Jeramie did. That this world gets captured on paper. That it doesn't die with me.

I'll be over here hyperventilating for a year or so. Never mind me.

This has come up at various times in the interviews; it now qualifies as a FAQ:

How did you become an internet phenomenon/celebrity/rock star?

I have no clue. Like I've said, I started writing here just to keep out-of-state friends up on my antics... I guess there's something in my writing style that you guys like. I still maintain that I don't really qualify as a Phenomenon - I'm just zis girl, you know? I honestly don't know why I'm read by so many, and what specifically motivated y'all to add me. Illumination is welcome!

Ordered three bars from yodelingfish.com - thanks for the tip, [livejournal.com profile] myriad_emotions and [livejournal.com profile] mfree! I ordered Chai Latte, Coffee Chef, and Honey Cream Oatmeal. They should ship tomorrow. A full report will follow.

Interviews
I have another interview in the queue, and questions to think up for a bunch of people, but I am so interviewed-out right now...

Weekends
Can we just skip this weekend? Can it be next weekend? Because next Friday, [livejournal.com profile] aussie_nyc will arrive. And next Saturday, [livejournal.com profile] penguinboi will arrive. I want them here now please. *nod*

Secretary
Tomorrow night, 8:00, my house, we're watching Secretary! If we're still awake afterward, we'll watch Animatrix.

Quotes of the day
[livejournal.com profile] aussie_nyc, in e-mail: "How in the heck did I get here? No-one goes for 6'2" geeky skinny guys with dark hair and.. wait, I'm saying that to the wrong person."
[livejournal.com profile] jenkitty, on my last post: "I knew you were a celebrity when I went to a party some weeks ago and heard someone I didn't even know and had never seen before talking about you."
