Administration
Hello to new friends [livejournal.com profile] elionwyr, [livejournal.com profile] returninghome, and [livejournal.com profile] uofmwalton!

I'm Super!, thanks for asking...
I tried on the Supergirl costume last night. Yep. Still looks good. I may actually take that to my next photo shoot. If anyone sees a Batgirl costume, or, really, any other superheroine costume, do let me know. This could be a thing. I could do this for the Shadesong 2004 Calendar. Hm. Remind me to dig up the posts about the calendar.

Finding Nemo
[livejournal.com profile] yendi and I are going to go see Finding Nemo at the Regal Hollywood 24 at 7:15 tonight. Anyone want to join us? Just meet us there. Unless you want to drive us.

Tourist-y Goodness!
[livejournal.com profile] penguinboi and [livejournal.com profile] aussie_nyc will be visiting next weekend! [livejournal.com profile] aussie_nyc wants to do sightseeing... I made an offhand comment to Pengy about [livejournal.com profile] aussie_nyc going to World of Coca-Cola, and he said, "Actually, I'm kind of interested in World of Coca-Cola." So... maybe we'll all three go! Hm. Groups of 10 or more get a discount...

Any ideas for other tourist-y stuff that visitors to Atlanta should see?

Also, [livejournal.com profile] aussie_nyc is still looking for someone to join him for a Braves game that Saturday; reply here if interested!

And away we go, by popular demand (75 "yes"s to 8 "no"s)....

For those who weren't here for the last round: It's confession time. Your deepest darkest sexual secrets. Things that you don't want anyone to know you've done/you like/you crave.

Anonymous commenting is enabled. IP logging is disabled. No one will know who you are, including me.

Warning: This is a safe zone. If anyone posts something that's abusive or harassing, to me or to any of the respondents, their comment will be deleted. If it happens more than once, the post will be closed and anonymous commenting re-disabled. To ensure that nothing nasty occurs overnight, I have given journal operator privileges to someone whose sleep schedule is the opposite of mine; there might be a half-hour window between him going to bed and me waking up, but I wouldn't count on it. Also, any anonymous comments to posts other than this one will be deleted.

The confession booth will be open for 48 hours from... right... now.

* I like this icon because it looks like my mental image of me. Not like the ickiness I see in the mirror. It looks like I think I ought to look, pointy little face and all.

* Best themed icon set: [livejournal.com profile] tablesaw.

* A tinygirl's lament. Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] trillian42!

* I really want that one House of Pain album. iTunes doesn't have it. :( "I'll serve your ass like John McEnroe" is just a great dis, I'm sorry.

I'm a victim of my own popularity.

LJ stops comparison-matching at 500 friends. So a big chunk of my friends-of list and communities list that *ought* to be bolded, isn't. And won't be.

And when you click on "view friends", instead of a list of friends, it gives me the directory thingie with the pictures of y'all. Which is cute, but makes it impossible to use any friends/friends-of comparison technique.

Why do they have to make LJ so difficult as you get more friends? It seems like the more you use LJ, the more they punish you for it.

Question from an LJLess friend: "Why can't I date normal men? Are there normal men?"
Me: "I don't think there are any. You wouldn't want one if there were, anyway..."

...is mercifully unscheduled...

Now that the furniture is out of the sitting room, we can begin the arduous process of moving bookshelves from [livejournal.com profile] yendi's office into the sitting area - which is the first step toward getting [livejournal.com profile] yendi's office cleaned out. So. This weekend. Bookshelves, if nothing else. And more work on Miss Elayna's room. Basically, we need to get all of her toys and games out, remove the ones she's forgotten about, group the rest into categories, and find places for them.

The main thing barring us from getting this accomplished? Motivation. We'd much rather laze about reading than get stuff done, but this stuff needs to get done - the sooner the better!

Just got the following e-mail from [livejournal.com profile] penguinboi:

"This is your third and final e-mail reminder. You asked to be reminded
about the Chai thing.

ChaiChaiChaiChaiChaiChaiChaiChaiChaiChaiChaiChaiChaiChaiChaiChaiChaiChaiChai
.

I'll stop Chaiming in now with the Chaimety Chai Chai goodness of the Chai
reminder.

Chai,

-s"

Fine! I shall post about the chai thing!

So I went done to FL to drop my daughter off at my parents' house for the summer. [livejournal.com profile] stronae and [livejournal.com profile] penguinboi met me at my parents' house to take me to the movies. Upon his arrival, [livejournal.com profile] penguinboi announced that he had a cooler in the PengyMobile, and that, within that cooler, there was a chai for me! And also some chai mix, for the next day!

I sighed, I swooned, I waxed rhapsodically to [livejournal.com profile] stronae about what an amazing boyfriend [livejournal.com profile] penguinboi is as he fetched me my chai. And Pengy walked back in as I was telling Stronae how wonderful, how thoughtful, and he held up that chai....

Me: "....oh. Um. Honey?"

It was a juice-box-ish chai drink with "Chai SOY Latte" emblazoned on it. Soy grosses me right the hell out. That chai? Undrinkable. I felt bad.... he hadn't known. And it was incredibly thoughtful of him! So he offered forth the chai mix. Powdered, not the liquid mix I'm accustomed to. 'k, so I tried it.

It should be noted that I am a total guy. I do not read directions. So I ripped open the packet, dumped the powder in the mug, then splashed in milk. Chai!

....no. That does not make chai. Vigorous stirring produced, not chai, but brown clumps in milk. Bloody hell. I looked at the instructions: 8 oz. of hot water. *eyeroll* Fine. Hot? Okay, hot.

Stuck it in the microwave for a minute.

This, likewise, does not make chai. This makes brown clumps in milk, with a tough foamy skin on top, looking a bit like creme brulee gone horribly wrong.

*sigh*

Never did get any chai. We tried it the next day with the requisite amount of hot water, but it just... tasted off.

It was still wonderfully thoughtful. :)

Y'all let me know if that actually works, okay? It should harvest all of my public posts and send them to you once a day... the downside is that, of course, it will only give you the public posts, nothing friends-only or filtered in any way. So it's not a replacement for really reading here!

[livejournal.com profile] mermaidblue and [livejournal.com profile] blueingenue and I had discussed having a regular (weekly? biweekly?) gathering of like-minded local women. I'm thinking coffee and crafting, or something.

I think we need a catchy name. Ideas?

I go bed now. *nod*
