Good news and bad news
The good news? I was able to redirect UPS, and I should be getting my Fluevogs at work today.
The bad news? I tried on the dress I was going to wear to this weekend's wedding. Uh-uh. That dress fit me when I was a B-cup. That dress does not fit me anymore. The zipper gets right up to the Rack of Doom region and just refuses to go any farther....
Why is this particularly bad news? Because it means dress shopping with my mother, who seems to have taken a sacred oath to remind me that I've gained weight at every available opportunity. Yes, I'm not a size 0 anymore. No, I don't overeat. I was a size 0 because I was having stress-related migraines near-constantly when I was married, so I'd have about a week out of every month when I was unable to eat at all. Now I'm divorced and not undergoing daily passive-aggressive, occasionally abusive attacks, and I'm a size 6-petite. Which isn't bad. I'd be happier with 4. But I never *want* to be a size 0 again. I like having curves.
I *was* delighted that I managed to utterly convince my mother that
yendi was wearing a T-shirt to the wedding and that I didn't understand why she had a problem with that. Too fun to mess with Mom's head...
Alia of the Knife
yendi: "The other little girl at the bus stop, Alia, is going back to Djakarta at the end of the month."
Me: "Heh. Alia of the Knife?"
yendi: *blank stare*
Me: "You... have no idea what I'm talking about, do you?"
He did not. Do you?

Speaking of
yendi
He'll be offline for a chunk of today - he's off at the DMV, (hopefully) getting his learner's permit. Anyone local want to give him driving lessons?
