Hello to new readers [livejournal.com profile] loveandpeace42, [livejournal.com profile] mcsnee, [livejournal.com profile] rubian77, [livejournal.com profile] wispfox, [livejournal.com profile] _yoink_, and [livejournal.com profile] ysabel!

Good news and bad news
The good news? I was able to redirect UPS, and I should be getting my Fluevogs at work today.

The bad news? I tried on the dress I was going to wear to this weekend's wedding. Uh-uh. That dress fit me when I was a B-cup. That dress does not fit me anymore. The zipper gets right up to the Rack of Doom region and just refuses to go any farther....

Why is this particularly bad news? Because it means dress shopping with my mother, who seems to have taken a sacred oath to remind me that I've gained weight at every available opportunity. Yes, I'm not a size 0 anymore. No, I don't overeat. I was a size 0 because I was having stress-related migraines near-constantly when I was married, so I'd have about a week out of every month when I was unable to eat at all. Now I'm divorced and not undergoing daily passive-aggressive, occasionally abusive attacks, and I'm a size 6-petite. Which isn't bad. I'd be happier with 4. But I never *want* to be a size 0 again. I like having curves.

I *was* delighted that I managed to utterly convince my mother that [livejournal.com profile] yendi was wearing a T-shirt to the wedding and that I didn't understand why she had a problem with that. Too fun to mess with Mom's head...

Alia of the Knife
[livejournal.com profile] yendi: "The other little girl at the bus stop, Alia, is going back to Djakarta at the end of the month."
Me: "Heh. Alia of the Knife?"
[livejournal.com profile] yendi: *blank stare*
Me: "You... have no idea what I'm talking about, do you?"

He did not. Do you?

[Poll #189650]

Speaking of [livejournal.com profile] yendi
He'll be offline for a chunk of today - he's off at the DMV, (hopefully) getting his learner's permit. Anyone local want to give him driving lessons?

Come on, guys. Sponsor me!

Holy crap.
The photo thread is up past 350 comments. That *may* be my most-commented-upon thread ever.

Shows: Smallville and Angel
Homoerotic subtext: Through the roof, baby!

No, seriously. Something you need to know -- I firmly believe that Clark and Lex are in love. Just on Smallville, not in actual comics continuity - though it does make sense in continuity, right? Clark can't deal with his feelings for Lex and uses Lois as a beard; Lex, a lover scorned, becomes Clark's arch-enemy....

Last night, the violins swelled as the two lovers saw each other for the first time in months; there were smiles of disbelief and adoration as they ran toward each other in slow motion....

Well, actually, the slow motion was our fault. We have TiVo. So, disappointed that they hadn't filmed it in slo-mo, we rewound and watched it in slo-mo.

Twice.

And at the end of the episode, Lex pretty much asked for Clark's hand in marriage.

[livejournal.com profile] glenn5 hates it when I do this...

Angel? Too easy.

Angel: I'm from Wolfram and Hart.
Spike: I'm his date.

They're doing it for us.

(* no, I neither read nor write - nor pay any attention to - slashfic. Or any fanfic. I just like gay porn and annoying [livejournal.com profile] glenn5. Two great tastes that taste great together!)

EDIT: Also, the mail-cart guy wearing the Lucha Libre mask? Excellent touch. Very WTF.

Our 'net connection was just down for two hours. As the boss was out of the office, I whiled away the time the way I usually do. I wrote Shayara character porn. Or, at least, I was getting to it, once I got through the drama and purple prose. This is why I write comic scripts instead of prose, people, so I don't have to write all of this stuff about the thoughts flitting across Halloran's mind, I can just abbreviate it so the artist knows what facial expression and body language to give him and get down to the actual *dialogue*. When I write comics, I write concisely. When I write prose, I get flowery. Screw flowery.

The particular scene I was working on happens the day after Capri and Halloran finally Do It. Don't read this if you don't want mild spoilers. There won't be anything graphic here. )

If you liked [livejournal.com profile] stronae's "Baby Got Rack, you'll *love* this....

(Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] mcsnee!)

EDIT: It's fixed, sorry, the net connection here is still upfucked...

I could not be deliberately sultry if my life depended on it, I think. To me, this is me just being silly and hiding behind my hair! But I've been told that it's sultry, soooo... is it?

Did anyone memory my "50 things not to say to your Dom" post? I've had a request for it via e-mail.

[livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic, I got it from you, I'm pretty sure - do you have a link to it handy?
