[livejournal.com profile] yuki_onna's first book just got published! Buy it here! She's a very talented writer, and I do not say that about everyone; I've already bought my copy. Bonus - it's only $8, people, with free shipping to the US and $1.50USD everywhere else. Support a kick-ass LJer and get kickass reading material at the same time! It's a win-win proposition!

Grocery shopping.

Money spent - $84.

Healthy snack purchased: Cantaloupe.

Weight loss per Publix scale: An additional 6 pounds, making 20 pounds total. I need to work out to get what [livejournal.com profile] bheansidhe calls "the turtle of fat" off my belly; I walk, which is good for the legs, but I need to do something else for the tummy. The parts of me where the weight loss is showing most: my waist and my face. (The turtle is right below the waist.)

Breakfast: Special K and anti-seizure medication. And coffee. I've given up soda and frappucinos and replaced them with water, but I refuse to surrender my coffee. Or my chai; I only get out to JavaMonkey once a week if I'm lucky, so that's not a big deal, and I deserve a treat for eating and drinking the healthy stuff.

Funny conversation of the day: After stumbling over words when picking her up from her sleepover, I said, "I'm sorry, I just woke up, I'm not really thinking yet." To which she replied, "Ohhh. Have you not had your coffee yet? Because I know you're not good with the thinking before you have your coffee."

Plans for today: Continuing the cleaning, and packaging gifts that need to be mailed. Problem - I have many small gifts to mail. I have many medium-to-large boxes. *sigh* Lots of padding shall be needed...

10 boxes packed for shipment. Most containing multiple gifts. Not all of these will be mailed before Christmas, as our checking account cannot handle $100+ in shipping at the moment; I get paid on the 26th and will likely mail things out on the 29th, if the UPS Store is open then. If you are not related to me by blood or spirit, or if I bought your gift locally, you aren't getting it til after Christmas. I see no need to apologize, because hey, you're getting a gift, be happy. Gifts purchased from online merchants will proceed directly to the recipients; if you receive a box, please do not open it until $WINTERHOLIDAY, as I did not spring for giftwrap in all cases.

I am so burned out right now.

One Very Large basket stuffed with gifts for people who live here.

About 10 more presents wrapped today, some going out, some staying here. [livejournal.com profile] murnkay, you are like blood to me, you are of my pack, but your gift is coming here and will so be delayed. Which is okay, I assume, because you said that you were stuck on what to get me.

I am so burned out.

Next year? You're all getting cookies. I have no idea how much money I spent. Gifting is like crack to me. And my list keeps getting bigger because I love so many people. But next year? Cookies. Cookies and pretty soaps. And maybe handmade candles.

No, seriously. You have NO IDEA how burned out I am. I have been doing this ALL DAY. I am the Judeopagan Santa Claus, with a Bag of Holding full of gifts.

I'm just sitting here staring at the screen between sentences. I have three more boxes to pack. But I have run out of tape.

I have run out of brain, too.

I want to go see a movie. I want chai. I want to not look at the state of my house, I want the cleanup faerie to come here and take care of this.

I'm going to go see if I can read before falling asleep.

"Twinkle Toes"
by Jackson Stephens
4/10/94

Pixie little vixen --
you've the bones of a bird
and sexual appetite
of a savage bitch mink in heat.
An old soul
she is, however --
what scars she bears
rarely surface to her skin;
either
they are still too fresh,
or
she chooses to
deal
with them in
her
own
way.

But - I'll tell ya something --
For so tiny a woman
she wears most of her great heart,
shares the love within her breast,
upon
her
sleeves.

Oh well, enough kissing ass --
she eats without a plate
and puts her feet up on the furniture.
Oh hell, maybe it's just a phase --
probably
not.

Sony has created LiveJournal Spiderman 2 styles and templates. And icons.

Fascinating. Guess LJ's gone mainstream...

(yes, Tony, I'm going to bed now.)
