Impatience
Doesn't today feel like Friday? I truly think it does.

Can any of you locals give me a ride to the airport or to a MARTA station? I want to meet him at the airport. He doesn't need a ride - he always rents a car - but I don't want to miss a single moment of him being here.

Frustration
I've been getting up early to unpack a box or two and maybe get some writing time.

Elayna's been getting up early so she can hang out with me before I go to work.

So she is perpetually underfoot (yes, shellefly, like Arya) when I'm trying to unpack and arrange my office - and forget about the writing time.

I don't want to confine her to the upstairs while I'm doing this because c'mon, she wakes up early just to hang out with me. And it's cool talking to her. It's just a bit frustrating.

And I can't get any writing done at night, because I feel horribly guilty if I'm doing anything besides unpacking.

Breathe in.

Speaking of Writing
I'm taking suggestions for characters to explore. This isn't writing writing, and only a few of these bits are actually in continuity (Lyric fans - that last one was, but it'll be rewritten, edited a bit). But it helps me see the background on a character. So if you have anyone in your mind that you think merits further exploration, do let me know.

Community

I need a community to park my in-character LJs. Just so I can remember what the heck I have.

Any ideas?

Also going through and grabbing any character and house names I can, regardless of whether they'd keep a journal. Though I have several characters who would. "Napalm" is, of course, taken - so he's iblowshitup, and Capri is girlinthetower; she can't use her real name for obvious reasons. halloran would never use his save to read Capri's friends-only entries.

katrianna and shawnfarrell have already been seen writing in paper journals in issues 1 and 2, so that's a given.

Et cetera.

Fenris is likely to have one just to moderate kirayth, which will become a community about a minute after I post this. I'm thinking that'll be an RP community if there's interest.

I can see Johnathan having one simply because Napalm would talk him into it.

But I have no idea what to call Johnathan's and Fenris's.

All permutations of Lyric are of course taken, but she wouldn't use an LJ anyway.

Hrm.

EDIT: And of course all permutations of The Sanctuary are taken. Was expecting that. Frankly, I'm quite surprised that Halloran and GirlInTheTower were available.

EDIT: And I want one for Victor, who you don't know yet but will. Growf.

Okay.

tablesaw insisted that Lyric would have a journal - and okay, I can see it. I don't see her writing in it - I can see her commenting in Napalm's, though. So hers is lyrics_voice.

Came up with a holding community for all of the LJs - not Shayara-specific. One that I'm amazed wasn't taken. central_casting.

Understand that this is not a whim; I've been planning on doing this for at least a year and a half. My original plan for the website was to have character pages link to the LJs of those characters who would reasonably keep an LJ, and for the characters to interact in their LJs. I still want to do that.

It's just now that I've been given the impetus to *do* it.

I'll work on these later, tomorrow, and Monday, as time allows. All of them will go into central_casting... and the people they've got friended are those they already know as Our Story Begins. katrianna and shawnfarrell haven't met yet, for example.

This is fun.

I promise you actual content from me at some time as well.

Who I Am

And yes, I lose readers when I go into obsessive talking-about-my-writing mode. But dudes - this is who I am. The little girl with pencils twisted into her hair to keep it out of her face, sitting in a tree and scribbling. I have had no suitable trees for some time, alas - but when suitable trees are available, they're my favorite place to sit.

I'm always following the characters in my head. I've gone stretches without physically writing things down, but in my head, it's always going. This is an intrinsic part of me. This is what makes me me.

If that bores you, that's okay. And you probably wouldn't want to hang out with me in real life. :) kires and wispfox will testify that I can - and will - talk for hours about Shayara... they were both kind enough to claim that they weren't bored. :)

Forget the Krispy Kremes, the nexus-type social dynamics, forget all of that. This is who I am. I listen, I write.
