[livejournal.com profile] yendi and I have a difference of opinion and wish to settle it. Help?

[livejournal.com profile] yendi didn't read the part in my original post where I said he can't answer the poll. So I deleted the poll, and am posting a new one.

(This is because if you know which side either of us is on, you may vote "along party lines" and the results would be skewed.)

If you voted before, please vote again!

[Poll #327409]

EDIT: Tanya Huff says they're fantasy. So. Yes.

I keep telling [livejournal.com profile] yendi that I'm always right...

Bright lights occasionally flashing in my peripheral vision. Hallucination-type lights; the lights in the office are static, and they aren't being turned off and on. but I've had this flashy thing twice so far this morning. Series of flashes, then nothing.

Um.

How bad *is* that, precisely, doctor-people?

Aaaagh.

Comment from [livejournal.com profile] weofodthignen: "If it's all around your peripheral vision, it could be glaucoma."

Heh. I remember going to the eye doctor last year. I remember them deciding that I was borderline for glaucoma, and telling me that I ought to come back in a year; sonner if I started having problems. That was last July. So. I'm due. I've been putting it off, though, because I had so much with the spine center and the oral surgery and the neurologist in January and again next week; I'd been putting off the opthamologist and my yearly checkup because those were the lowest priority, and I need to save up sick days.

Guess I'm going to be skipping lunches to make up the time. Because now...

8/3: Neurologist.
8/5: Regular doctor, to talk about my non-neurological side effects (disturbing weight loss, hair thinning, etc.).
8/19: Opthalmologist.

Dammit.

Did I mention that I hate going to the doctor?

EDIT:

* Neuro wants me to go to primary care doc before my neuro appointment.
* Primary care appt. is two days AFTER neuro appt.
* Spent 10 minutes on the phone with the primary care doc' receptionist. Primary care doc is out of town until August 4!
* Called neuro, left message asking if it was at all possible to move *that* appointment to late on the 5th or anytime on the 6th. Now I wait.

Did I mention that I hate talking on the phone just as much as I hate doctors?

Also - thank god for my Clie, or I'd never be able to keep track of this shit.

Regarding yesterday's poll...

*fierce hugs* to everyone going through hard times.

Rock on! to those of you who just bought lots of sex toys (yes, there was more than one response in that vein).

Yay for naked pics! Yay for being in love! Yay for new relationships! Yay for kissing lots of girls! (No, that last one was not [livejournal.com profile] aussie_nyc.) Yay for sex! Yay for kink!

Actually, I think alligator tastes more like veal.

You people are weird, with your ear piercings smelling of cheese and your jars full of shoelaces.

"blahblahblah porncakes." Honey, you rock.

I like you too.

Yay hedgehogs!

Rrrow.

Yes, please do tell me about the mongol hordes that seek to take your ship from you.

I still hate my voice. But, like you, I like puppies.

Poll is still open, if you feel like saying something.

* Was treated to lunch at [livejournal.com profile] javamonkey! Strategic Shadowrun campaign meeting with [livejournal.com profile] static_eddie. Which became, well, a series of tangents because we have the attention spans of ferrets on a sugar high. We have decided that the next meeting ought to be moderated by someone who can keep us on task.

* I just wrote "ferret" with an extra "t". Damn you, [livejournal.com profile] theferrett!

* We saw [livejournal.com profile] karlita at JavaMonkey! Yay! That woman rocks my world. Lovely surprise. :)

* I believe that one of my ex-lovers (we were never boyfriend/girlfriend) is telling me that he has naked pictures of himself. If this is the case, I shall require evidence. Ah! Wait - he says they are. Everything but money shots. He has been instructed to send them to me. I love Gmail. It's almost as realtime as AIM. EDIT: Ooooh, clarification from him... "You can show them to whomever you like, just make me (Anonymous) to others....I like feedback on this stuff....helps self esteem." Heh. I am asking how many people = too many...

* One hour til I go home and well, clean til I fall over, then watch more Firefly.

It's a good day.

EDIT:
* Today my little fishie has face-painting and songs&skits. Tomorrow she goes to the movies. Friday she goes bowling...

And then she comes home! *does the dance of joy*

Fishie!

Need wedding dress.

Measurements 32-24-ummidunno.

For the love of god I just need a '50s-style tea-length dress hopefully in a nice ivory, patterns are okay, at this point I'd totally go with a pattern if I could just find a dress that fits me...

And yes, I know that vintage clothing runs small, and yes, I'm looking on eBay, and nothing is small enough.

Dammit.

AAAAAGH.

Stupid stupid stupid.

If there was any justice in this world, I would wake up tomorrow morning to see this dress draped across the foot of my bed, with a note saying, "The world loves you, 'song, and as proof, here! Marry Yendi in this dress!"

Notes I scribbled down before dinner:

Solange Telenias
Ballad of Summerwind and Wintermoon
prism - mirror - lens
properties of light
properties of dance
specialization - compartmentalization
bleedover

Dhalgren meets Stardance meets Brave New World.

-------

These are pieces of a project I haven't touched since I was 19. Perhaps I'll revisit it. Who knows?

This tangent brought to you by [livejournal.com profile] haikujaguar's sketch of a member of her world's futuristic dance troupe.

In completely unrelated news, [livejournal.com profile] kires had interesting insights regarding the "Four Sisters" story that I'll likely dissect tomorrow. This is a reminder to myself. Yes.
