Yay!

This means I can take her to the bank and get that money order for my eBay win without Being A Horrible Mother...

No jail for mother in tot's death
Child died in hot car; judge grants probation

Full story reproduced below, as site requires registration. )

Dear Ms. Burgess, you murdering piece of shit:

You do not deserve lenience. Do you know what you deserve? You deserve to be locked in a car. On the hottest day of the year. And roasted alive.

It's what you did to your daughter.

Your three-year-old daughter, who died slowly and horribly, because you locked her in and went on your merry way to work. Your daughter, who probably spent the last hour of her life crying out for the mother who did not love her to come and save her.

You had a hard time listening to the description of how your daughter died? Good. Let's put that on tape and play it for you on continuous loop. You didn't like the pictures of the claw marks on your daughter's face and neck as she desperately tried to escape being burned alive? Good. Let's paper the interior of the car with pictures. So that as you die in agony, you don't forget. So you remain constantly aware of what you did to your little girl.

And that's still less than you deserve. I can only hope that whatever hell you go to gives you exactly what you deserve. And then some.

Very truly yours,
A mother who loves her child.

PS: Dear attorney and judge: What the fuck is wrong with you? How can you sleep at night?

I just looked at my main journal page and noticed that the post before the one about that woman killing her child....referenced my belief that bringing a feverish child out to run errands was, in my book, bad parenting.

Check that contrast. *shakes head*

(I do not mean to say that, if you are forced to bring a sick child out because you really need to get something done, you are a bad parent. I just think that that sort of thing ought to be avoided if at all possible.)

We watched the first few minutes of The Brini Maxwell show that we'd TiVoed to see if it was a re-run. It was.

Yendi: "Nuke it?"
Me: "Nuke it. From orbit."
Yendi: "You haven't even seen that movie!"
Me: "What movie?"
Yendi: "Aliens. Which you need to see."
Me: "Game over, man!"
Yendi: "You are not allowed to make pop-culture references to movies you haven't seen."
Me: "How am I supposed to know if I've seen 'em?"

Seriously!

Tonight's Teen Titans... wow.

They pulled it off. The Judas Contract arc. And they did it better.

So creepy. So gutwrenching.

Wow.

Depression is listed as a side effect of Keppra.

It is, of course, impossible to tell if the depression is due to the Keppra... or due to my frustration with my epilepsy. Or with my exhaustion from the medication switch, since I am essentially overdosing. Or due to my little cancer-scare thingie.

I'm a real downer lately, I know. Trying to deal.

Didn't write anything in the Doodle & Sara story (which needs a title) today. Wrote proto-porn. Is okay.

Sleepy.

EDIT: The constant headache is almost certainly the Keppra, though. Hurts to move my eyes. :(
