It's riiiiight here. Tropical depression. Dumping rain on us. Some wind, some power outages, some felled branches.

I'm at work.

Elayna is here with me, as they decided less than half an hour before school starts that they're cancelling school. As in, we drove up and they told us. Aaagh. So now EJ is here with no snacks, no activities, no lunch - because she was going to buy lunch at school - and she's gonna be bored off her li'l ass.

One of our grad students has offered to let her sit in on her Business Calculus class. Elayna said "Okay." So. I dunno.

I wanna go home. No one's going to come in today. And I tend to think that if all of the county's public schools are closed for inclement weather, the university should close. But that's just me.

Anyway.

I am shleepy.

Incubus Dreams, it's called.

A vampire serial killer who preys on strippers is on the loose. Called in to consult on the case, Anita fears her judgment may be clouded by a conflict of interest. For she is, after all, the consort of Jean-Claude, the ever-intoxicating Master Vampire of the City. Surrounded by suspicion, overwhelmed by her attempts to control the primal lusts that continue to wrack her as a result of her passionate contacts with vampires, werewolves, and the shapeshifter Micah, Anita does something unprecedented: She calls for help.

Finally,Anita gets help...

Oh, wait. It's probably not mental help.

But.

PLEASE let this be an Edward book, please please please; I am so sick of this ardeur crap, seriously.

Due to the three day weekend, I am only about 60% exhausted.

I had forgotten what this level of functionality was like.

It'll go away soon, of course.

Slowest. Morning. Evar.

The child is doing fine. She's been working on her comic book... and one of our professors just gave her a few pages of mazes. We have some nice professors. :)

Also she has done some math worksheets. Long division.

We're having pizza for lunch... making the Papa John's people deliver lunch because we don't want to have to deal with flooding. Never mind, their power's out. :( [livejournal.com profile] yendi will be picking our lunch up from the pizza place across the street; far less a pain in the ass for just-him to go out than to manage with Miss Kid...

I wanna go home. *kicks footstool disconsolately*

Lunch isn't til noon. I'm hungry NOW.

The fact that I'm actually hungry = a good thing, at least.

Can't think can't think can't think.

Suppose this means that I need a minimum of two days of Xtreme rest in order to be functional.

Tried to write a post that I'd wanted to write. Can't make things connect.

Aaaagh.

Well. In an hour, I'll be on a field trip to the DeKalb Farmer's Market. Not to return until 4:00. And I go home at 4:30.

Freshman mentoring = teh r0xx0r.

So I just have to manage til about 2:15, then I go. *twitch*

At least Elayna's with Adam now.
