Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] gikiski!

Medical
Exhausted like whoa. Nauseous like whoa. Also feeling a little time-delayed on the coordination. Sleep deprivation does me no favors, man. Brainweird.

I'm off the heart monitor, and will be returning it after work.

Elayna!
One week from today, I get Elayna back! Yay! *dances* I have missed Miss Kid.

Getting Stuff Done
Got much done in her room yesterday, and knocked out stack 3 of 5 of the filing. Stack 5 is the real bitch, but 4 is the easiest, so there is balance.

Adam's coming home with me today, so he can help. And make sure I don't overstress myself. Especially since...

Blog-A-Thon
I have been invited to Blog-A-Thon in Virginia with [livejournal.com profile] yuki_onna, [livejournal.com profile] shellefly, [livejournal.com profile] grailquestion, and [livejournal.com profile] godlyperspectiv! [livejournal.com profile] yuki_onna has a spare computer for me and everything.

Airfare is $300+, which I cannot afford - so this trip depends on the whimsy of hard-drivin' [livejournal.com profile] kires, who I can pay in sexual favors and Black Jack gum. I have asked him, and it is a solid maybe. In the interest of this, I must take care of myself especially well all week, as I know that travel takes a lot out of me. But dude. How cool would that be?

Hey, it's August 1! Payday for a lot of you. So pay those bills, and then...

Click here to sponsor me for Blog-A-Thon 2005!

(This is a partial Blog-A-Thon, daylight hours only, due to my health.)

This Blog-A-Thon will benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in memory of [livejournal.com profile] tx_db8r.

This year's theme: My characters answer questions. :) The hardest thing right now is not writing some of this up yet. Like the days before NaNoWriMo...

Current total is $280. Thank you, anonymous donor, [livejournal.com profile] gwynraven, [livejournal.com profile] australian_joe, [livejournal.com profile] kimeepower, and [livejournal.com profile] cathawk! Other person - what's your LJ name?

Anyone who donates, whether it's $5 or $50, gets to ask specific questions of specific characters. (The rest of you, well - you just take what you get, sorry.) I'm also working on another incentive. I'll post as soon as I have info on it.

I know this isn't going to be as huge as in previous years. And I'm not doing 24 hours, so I don't really have the right to demand that it be as huge. But Blog-A-Thon's important to me. So please throw a few bucks in the pot - it means a lot to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and it means a lot to me. And please, even if you can't donate, tell your friends. Thank you. :)

I'm impatient as hell. Want to get out of work so I can write.

Just dicking around yesterday, I was thinking up questions to ask my Shayara characters for Blog-A-Thon, and I thought, "Well, the old standard is 'What do you want?'..."

Which unleashed one hell of a rant from Julia. In Kieran's direction, of course. And, when Capri tried to step in to defuse the situation... led to Julia sort of accidentally telling Capri she loved her for the first time.

Which is now leading in my head to an Important Conversation between the two of them that I want to write Right Now, dammit...

Julia's relationship with Capri is very tangly; Julia's relationships are very scary for her to form, period. She may be the most powerful girl in the world, but trust is not her strong suit. Capri has called her her feral kitten. Act 2 is just as much about Julia learning to trust and learning to open her heart and mind as it is about planning to overthrow Alanna and the Council. Fenris isn't sold on this kid for a while...

In the mail today: early registration info for AIDS Walk Atlanta. *laugh*

Don't worry, I won't hit y'all up for that til October - and that one I tend to concentrate on co-workers for. I try to divide my two fundraising campaigns equally.

But what amuses me is this:

They sent me one of those rubber bracelets that're so popular these days, the Lance Armstrong ones, but this one is red and says "AIDS Walk Atlanta" on it.

It fits around my bicep.

Comfortably.
