Happy early birthday to
shiftercat, who advances a year over the weekend!
Hello to returning reader
fibro_witch!
Medical
Same exhaustion + nausea. Need to remember to call doctor re: proton pump inhibitor and folic acid.
Touched
Wanting to do something for me, but feeling like she didn't know me well enough to have a letter mean much, one of my readers chose to do something else. She doesn't like to be identified when she does stuff like this. But I wanted to talk about it, because it meant a lot. Reading that she'd done this brought tears to my eyes for the first time through any of this, and they were tears of happiness.
She "cleaned out [her] charity account", writing out checks for over $1,500 to various charities, including one for $150 to the National MS Society (my 2005 Blogathon charity, in memory of
tx_db8r) in my family's honor.
She said some wonderful stuff besides that, but I don't know how much she wants any of this shared, so I will keep it to myself. But - yes. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. This is the best thing you can do.
Some of you who live far away have expressed a desire to cook for me or take care of me. You know what you can do, barring that? Take care of someone else. It means a lot.
Friday Memeage!
Wearing
Zip-up brown hoodie sweater, jeans, Happy Bunny socks, aaaaand I can't remember what underwear, sorry.
Reading
Stargirl, by Jerry Spinelli. Another book that Elayna loved so much that she pressed it upon me.
'song parenting tip #1c: Read your kid's books, and discuss them. It's an excellent way to know a bit of what's going on in their heads.
(What's 'song parenting tip #1? Pay Attention.)
Writing
I'll be working on some of those prompts today, hopefully, and then hopefully jumping back on the primer this weekend.
Planning
The big project this weekend... Elayna has
a) gone through a growth spurt, and
b) gotten a metric shitload of new Stuff for $WINTERHOLIDAY, all of which is scattered around the entryway and kitchen.
So. Project? Cleaning out her closet! And yes, I fully expect this to be a full-weekend project. *sigh* And we'll have bags of stuff for charity at the end of it... need to actually see if Goodwill does pickups (we used to donate to the Salvation Army, but I've found out they're very anti-gay), because we already have a few bags of stuff for charity.
You?
