Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] fiannaharpar and [livejournal.com profile] zoethe!

Hello to new readers [livejournal.com profile] oletheros, [livejournal.com profile] perseph12, and [livejournal.com profile] tdarling!

Medical
The usual.

'song-and-Yendi Monday Morning Mix
Mondays suck. People are tired and grouchy on Monday mornings. Bouncing around the car like a Muppet helps. So does watching one's partner bounce around the car, should you yourself not be inclined to do so.

I am not going to spend forever with YouSendIt - it takes likes 5 minutes per song, for me. I'll see if I can get Adam to help me upload the lot to my website sometime this week. For now, you get a list. You probably have many of these songs already, after all. You'll find two categories - rapid-patter and silly. There is some overlap! Also, silly includes '80s white-boy rap. If you are the driver, you are instructed to bounce in your seat as you sing along. If you are the passenger, interpretive dance is encouraged.

"One Week", Barenaked Ladies (Contained herein is a lyric that is very, very me: "I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve/I have a history of taking off my shirt.")
"We Didn't Start the Fire", Billy Joel
"It's the End of the World" R.E.M. (Birthday party cheesecake jellybean boom!!!)
"Life is a Rock (But the Radio Rolled Me), Reunion (a.k.a. that song from The Specials)

"Jump Around" and/or "Top o' the Mornin' To Ya", House of Pain
"Ice Ice Baby", Vanilla Ice
"It Takes Two", Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock

"Title of the Song", Da Vinci's Notebook
"Mahna Mahna", the Muppets (Hell, anything by the Muppets, but Mahna Mahna still rules all known universes)
"One Night in Bangkok", Murray Head (if only because Adam cracks up whenever I claim to "get my kicks above the waistline, sunshine." Well, some of them, I do!)
"Hungry Like the Wolf", as covered by Reel Big Fish ("Like the wolf, baby, like the wolf!")

More later, because the meds are kicking in. Add your own!

Tonight!
Great Big Sea concert! *boogies down in preparation for boogying down*

*wave*

I am jumping out of a perfectly good airplane on Saturday for Operation Freefall.

I have raised $905 for RAINN and SOAR. w00t!

If I raise $95 more, I will be jumping sans panties. [livejournal.com profile] kungfoogirl will be there to verify. Actually? As [livejournal.com profile] katfireblade offered, I will give you (where you = sponsors only) photographic evidence.

*rattles the donation can*

Please sponsor me. If you can't - hell, even if you can - pimp this far and wide!

Why did my LJ portal not pick this up this morning?

Happy birthday to [livejournal.com profile] mizarchivist!

In other news, I'm now at $1,120 raised for Operation Freefall. Woohoo! *dances like a monkey* So I'm going commando. Have to think of something to offer if I get up to $1,500. I'm not going braless. Because it would hurt, that's why.

There's always the offer of a story - considering that I'm just now writing the promised Blogathon story for last year (started it yesterday!), I don't know if you'll trust me on that, though. *guilty look* But I'll do it, I will!

The Blogathon story is about Annie coming to terms with Nicholas "getting sick". Since I blogged for MS research last year, it suits; I like have the story have something to do with the charity.

My breathing is the loudest sound in the world.

Now that my mom has stopped screaming.

Mom isn't dead. And Dad isn't dead. And I'm not crying. And this is just a dream.

They were crouched over her - those men, those things. The Hounds. And they stand up and smile at me, and I can't move... Mom told me to run, but I can't move. I'm frozen.

Mom...

They're walking toward me - slowly. Their footsteps loud on gravel. I can't even look at them, just look at my mom on the ground, my mom, who isn't getting up...

My breathing is louder, my heartbeat is louder. Mom has to get up. She has to, she has to -

And the Hounds speed up, and one of them leaps for me, and now I can move - I stumble back, press my back against the wall, flinging my arms out in front of me like I can ward them off, screaming "Mommy!"

...and my shield flares, so bright I can see it - and the Hound's open hand bounces off. He snarls, inches from my face, and I slide down the wall, onto my butt, hands thrust out as far as they can go, sobbing, because there are three of them, snarling and vicious and they killed my Mommy and my shield is starting to crackle, to crack, and one of them laughs -
