State of the 'song
Three days in a row of actual sleep! Note: This doesn't mean my insomnia is cured, because that's actual sleep with the highest dose of Lunesta they'll prescribe. Which is better than very little sleep on the highest dose of Lunesta they'll prescribe.
All my bloodwork was negative, sooooo.... *wide-eyed shrug* My heart hasn't been bugging me, so I guess I will just keep an eye on things?
State of Sindrian Arts!
sindrian's new and improved machine is up and running! This happened right before Arisia, so we had forgotten to mention it because Arisia. He's begun manufacturing Kickstarter rewards, and you will be able to buy a Kikori for your very own self as soon as he has the shopping cart up on his website! They will be $5K per complete kit. Link will likely be up next week, with a full description of what comes in that kit.. In the meantime, feel free to nudge me for details.

So I'm applying for a grant for my writing, and I'm to submit 25 pages of Cicatrix. This can be "a single work, or up to four excerpts".
I'm torn. The thing about Cicatrix is that it starts off pretty dark, and you have to give it a bit to see where it's going. I'm trying to decide if it's best to send 25 pages starting at the very beginning, or send four excerpts. And it occurred to me that I have people I can ask the opinion of.
If I send four excerpts, it'd be the reading I did at Arisia '11, Wiscon, and PhilCon - Ash first discovering the club and Aaron, Ash and Aaron first meeting and dancing, Aaron's tattoo, Kai's introduction. If I send one chunk, it'll be the reading I just did at Arisia '12, but adding the first bit from the other reading, because that's where the story begins; I just skipped it because many of you had already heard it.
So if you've been to both variations of this reading - which one works better?
Friday Memeage
Wearing: Still my sock monkey pajamas. But I will shower and dress soon.
Reading: Encyclopedia of the Exquisite: An Anecdotal History of Elegant Delights, by Jessica Kerwin Jenkins, and Chasing the Moon, by A. Lee Martinez.
Writing: Cicatrix, and also I have a poem-seed rattling around.
Knitting: I finished the first sleeve for the toddler sweater; I really should've started he second sleeve yesterday, but I so hate picking up stitches around armholes or thumb gussets, so I put it off. Today I must.
Planning: Today, writing, that sleeve, several business-type things, and figuring out what to do for Family Dinner. (We really need to plan in advance.) Tomorrow, the DeCordova museum to see
emilytheslayer's installation! If we have any plans on Sunday, no one has told me what they are.
