Yesterday was Adam's and my 8th wedding anniversary! <3 We went to Tempo for dinner the night before; yesterday, we had brunch at The Friendly Toast and went to the Museum of Fine Arts. Happy all over. :)

Protip when going to the MFA:
1. Get museum passes from your library. We paid $14 for the two of us instead of $50.
2. Always ask the little old men in the red museum-volunteer vests what you should go see first. They get so excited about telling you where their favorite exhibits are.

I don't write as much about Adam as about Judah; Adam's more private, and also our relationship is older (we've been a couple for 12 years now) and quieter. But he is Best Husband Evar and we interlock in so many ways that I have no idea who I'd be without him. He remains one of the best choices I've ever made.

(Why do I not have a Shakespeare icon?)

DUELING SHREWS! We're going to see The Taming of the Shrew at MIT tomorrow night and at Harvard on Sunday. (There's actually a day where you can go to a matinee of one and the evening performance of the other - November 3rd - but we have other plans.)

Elayna is playing Kate in her school's production of The Shakespeare Project - modern interpretations of classic scenes. They're doing the wooing scene as a pro wrestling match.

Yep.

With the guidance of the... playwright? Adaptor? Arranger? they've inserted even more scenes, and Elayna has ended up with two additional scenes and a sonnet. Because there are three actors in her school with actual Shakespeare experience and she's one of them.

So she'll also be doing Lady Macbeth's sleepwalking scene set in an insane asylum and the Hermia/Helena catfight as an episode of Jerry Springer. (She's Hermia, of course.)

Anyway! Shrew this weekend as training for Elayna! She's already seen the Scottish Play, and she has the Hermia/Helena scene pretty well memorized - she's played Hermia twice.
