I do not love starting out my day with phone calls. I am phone-phobic! But some jerk parked in front of our trash cans, so the automatic garbage truck couldn't pick up our trash and recycling. So. Call to non-emergency police line, run outside to photograph the SUV's license plate and position relative to trash cans.

Jerk moved his SUV before the cops showed, but he only moved it across the street; I'll see if the cops can still ticket him based on photographic evidence. Because that's just rude. And resulted in me making two calls, because I also had to call Public Works to get the garbage truck to come back.

All of this because I don't want to get fined for blocking access, mind.

Jerk.

Anyway.

Today is a miscellaneous sort of day anyway, because today is when the cabinet and mystery boxes are getting delivered! Yay!

So instead of diving into the novel, I am getting all the little things done. Paperwork for judging the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award again - yes, I said I wasn't going to do it, but Adam pointed out that if I only judge YA, I'm less likely to end up with a pile of horribly racist and rapey shit, and if I do? YA tends to be shorter. A bunch of other smaller stuff.

It makes me twitchy when I can't go down to Inbox Zero! There are things I have to keep in my inbox til we can deal with them on Saturday - Elayna's financial aid stuff, mostly. My scanner isn't working, so I need to have Adam take stuff to his office so he can scan it so I can e-mail it, and that all has to stay in the inbox until it's done. Grump.

And now, to proofreading and copyediting, which will also knock two things out of my inbox! (And get me paid, in one case.)

A colleague of Judah's paid him to help him move - partly in money, partly in the entire contents of his liquor cabinet.

In the interest of interest, I will now inventory the booze.
