(Thank you, everyone chiming in on the college post! I have not responded to everyone simply because I have been nonstop researching your suggestions.)
As a bunch of you know, we have Landlord Drama and bonus Downstairs Tenant Drama that I'm not going to get into publicly because we may end up in court over this bullshit. Short public version: Our lease ends in May, but staying until May is untenable. We're looking for another house, but have not found anything yet (though Judah called about a promising one today).
So obviously there's a lot of stress there for all of us. And bonus stress for me because I'm the one home all day waiting for the other shoe to drop. And also bonus stress for me because interior design.
Stay with me here.
So we've been living in a house that doesn't suit us for years. Partially because it's not a good fit for us, there are clutter, disorganization, and storage issues. We've been busting our butts over the last several months to fix that as much as we can, and where we are now is that we've done most of what we can (besides Adam's room).
Me, I have Ideas. I am a design geek. I not only have Ideas, but I have very strong ideas about furniture (that I am designing in my head to be cut on Judah's machine) and color and storage and the way we use our space.
And I cannot do ANY OF IT until we move and I have NO IDEA when that will be.
So I am sitting right now in a home office that is set up really poorly for me, but it's the best I can do now, because it would be stupid to build the new desk and storage furniture when I don't know what my space will be like in a few months. I have to wait. But it chafes me.
...I reorganized the pantry. Maybe that helps a little. Not much.
