Interview #4: from [livejournal.com profile] shawnj

Tuesday, June 10th, 2003 10:20 am

1. I often hear you and [livejournal.com profile] yendi talk about Oysterband. How would you describe their music to someone who has no idea who they are?

Political folk. Folk rock. Celtic political pop/rock/folk/world..... aii! You have to listen to them! Feel-good music that makes you dance and laugh, songs that can move you near tears... their song "We Shall Come Home" is the song that defines the message of Shayara for me.

2. What do you think is the first impression that you give people that meet you in real life with no knowledge of your online activity?

"Damn, she's short." Seriously, yeah. I'm strikingly tiny. It takes people a bit to get over that.

3. If you could give one currently active writer their walking papers, who would you 'fire'?

Piers Anthony. *vomity sound*

4. Twist on a cliched question. If you were sent back to live your life over again, would you go through all of your trials again so that you would still have the life you have now, or would you make sure that you did things differently?

I would do everything the same - see interview #1 for reasoning - except if I had a cosmic "undo" button - if I could live out the different life and see if it ended up as good as my life is now, and undo it all if it didn't.

5. What is the most important thing that you have learned since you started this journal?

That my writing is worthy of attention.
