I'm wearing one of my stretchy meshy sparkly shirts (like the one in the icon) with a new bra for the first time.

I look like a Barbie doll. They're like, out there. I'm wondering if this outfit is work-safe.

See [livejournal.com profile] yendi's post for his reaction...

Oh, and further "what are you wearing?" stuff: the shirt is the purple one, also wearing tight jeans and fake-docs. Lilac bra. Purple panties.

You guys? What are you wearing?

Current Music: Why is there not a mood set for sexy?

Um, who sings this one? Is it by Right Said Fred?

"I'm too sexy for my mood set..."

That's what [livejournal.com profile] iroshi does when there's not a mood set for her mood. She puts it in "music". I'm copying.
Friday, July 5th, 2002 06:33 am (UTC)
I figure it's the logical place to put it: it goes right underneath, after all. And I'm very seldom listening to music, so the space is free.

You know, you can make your own mood set. It's in the faq apparently. Several of my friends have recently made Lex/MR mood sets. (check out friends [livejournal.com profile] ktnb and [livejournal.com profile] scrunchy and [livejournal.com profile] cybyay.) Also have a friend that has a buffy mood set (see [livejournal.com profile] brooding_soul). And someone made a Lana one that was hilarious as the one for sad showed her happy, the one for confused showed her happy.... Apparently it isn't that difficult. =)

New Bras are wonderful! I got three yesterday and actually feel comfortable.

I'm wearing:

Black v-neck cotton top--it's a little snug.
Black long skirt
plain black sandal type shoes from Payless
New black bra
black underwear.

Yes, I'm boring. Usual jewelry and hair is up in a bun in a burgundy velvet scrunchy. But that's just because I couldn't find my black ones.

Well, my underwear is somewhat boring today, though it's all nice and figure-hugging if I'm *only* wearing it...lightweight beige sports bra and matching undies.

Over that, though, I look fairly good, if a bit Native...
Brown knit top with fringe. Marble-dyed to look like faux-leather, I presume. Comfy and pretty, with beadwork on the fringe.
Black cotton skirt, sort of like broomstick, only made out of thicker cotton so it doesn't crinkle. Shamen in full totem dress all over it, many different tribes.
Black granny boots.

My hair's not done yet (I was waiting for it to dry) but in a few minutes it will have two braids hanging down the back, tied off in little black leather strips.

I *so* wish we could wear jeans to work. Last I heard, the only reason we're a business-casual environment is because we're in the Administrative building, on the same floor as Legal, which means Important People come by...maybe after we move we'll be allowed to wear jeans. If not, maybe I can at least swing a casual Friday policy. :)

I have had to deviate from the normal worker-drone clothes today because I lost a pair of pants this morning. Wore out and split. :P So I have on a polo shirt and black Wilson warm up pants and sneakers.

I actually have an amusing-in-retrospect story about pants ripping.

So. I'm at work (old job, not this one). And I bend over, and my pants rip across the seat. Yikes. No one saw, and I borrowed a co-workers cardigan to tie around my waist. So I call Dad, who has a spare key to my apartment, and tell him to bring my a pair of black pants.

So Dad pulls up behind the office, where peoplew take their smoke breaks, figuring it would be less obstrusive than walking in the front door with my pants. But as he approaches the back door, who should come out but two of the vice presidents.

So Dad - dear, idiotic Dad - not knowing how to explain his presence - holds the pants aloft and announces, "Oh, I'm just bringing these to my daughter. She had a little accident."

You'd think he could find a better way to say that. :)

I tore my pants once while on the way home on a business trip - and my luggage was checked and on the plane already.
Friday, July 5th, 2002 07:25 am (UTC)
I've said it before and I'll say it again - I love my dad, but he's an idiot.

How did that work out, on the plane? Was your shirt long enough to cover it, at least?

Thankfully I had some safety pins in a little kit in my computer bag/briefcase, so I was able to hold the pants together, mostly. Long shirt and strategic carrying method for the laptop managed to keep me decent long enough to make it to the car :)

I work at a nursing agency that sends visiting nurses into the community to provide health care in the home. Our nurses do not wear any kind of 'company uniform' and provide their own work clothes. This illustrates why it's not such a good idea.
One of our nurses was in a client's home, running an IV. She bent over to get something out of her bag and RIIIIP! Pants split right up the back. The client noticed the nurse had a funny expression on her face and asked her what happened. The nurse said, "I just split my pants." Client begins laughing uproariously. When client finally calmed down, she tells the nurse, "I thought you said you SHIT your pants..."
