So I've been thinking a lot about old Utah friends. Different than old Vegas friends, as these friends are highly likely to be alive and well. So I googled a few names, and I think I *may* have found my old friend Newt. So - this is the brave part - I've just sent an e-mail to the possible Newt asking if he's him. I hope it is!

Why is it brave to email them? Just worried it's not them, or is he an old flame or something?

Just worried that it's not him. Old flame: He had a crush on me at one point, but that was all resolved by the time I left town.

Essentially, he was a good friend, but very much a loner; most people didn't really "get" him. I'd like to see where he's at now. And he was all goofy and stuff.

*hug* back... you'd like Newt. He was the only other person in Utah who liked TMBG.

How do you not like TMBG????????????????????

Do you know, I first listened to them because Mercedes Lackey's character, Tannim, used their songs to foil a telepath? ^_^ (Drove the people "listening" to him crazy, in fact, trying to figure out what sort of spell he was working.)

It was Utah. No one has heard of TMBG in Utah. :)

I showed that passage to [livejournal.com profile] yendi as proof of Lackey's coolness....

Oh, definitely. Give him Chrome Borne to read. It's *very* different than the Valdemar series; he might like it better.
