Settle down. :) I know you all mean well, but I'm not going to the ER for a twisted ankle. It's not broken. I'm going to go home early and prop it up and ice it, and slap an ankle brace on it, and it will be fine. Stop worrying. :)
podling and nanne are always getting on my case to go to the doctor. But there really isn't anything that they can do about a twisted ankle that you don't already know. I mean, I never did go to them about breaking my tailbone (shovelling snow last year...), or having dizzy fits for 6 months (they've stopped for a couple months now, right after calling off my engagement...) .
But I have to say they were right about the UTI. I put it off until I was in searing pain and bleeding, and by that point the antibiotics they gave me weren't quite enough to kick it entirely... Hmm should go back soon... really I will. But considering I still haven't had the cash to pay the $80 that the insurance didn't cover...
If I had dental insurance, so that I actually bothered to go to the dentist, would I end up in thousands of dollars of debt from the operations I just don't know I need right now?
I recently got dental insurance, and the first visit was a couple of hundred dollars, I think three? There's another bigger visit in a few months, and then after that, they will be ready to start in on fillings. Thats just to fix my damn gums. But, I must say, the first vist helped a lot. I had no idea that working on gums could make teeth feel better. I can chew with both sides of my mouth again. I really didn't notice that I was only chewing on the right side until the problem improved.
Dental insurance is a major scam. If you have decent coverage, the dentists won't see you. They want cash customers. The good policies don't actually pay money to the dentist, they negotiate a better rate for their customers. Which the dentists are obligated by law, at least here in GA, to accept. But only for so many customer hours a month. So since the proceedure I need is a big one, I can't get it till october. If you ever meet a dentist socially, and they cry about money, hit them. Or scream. Or something.
