2e - we're all old-schoolers, and Mike (DM) didn't want to have to familiarize himself with a whole new system, we wanted to just jump in and play.

You consider second edition old school? Child, old school D&D stops after 1st edition. For real old school you've got to go to the first printings of the first three or four books.

children, children... i had the first first old skool three-little-books-inna-box D&D. bought it new. i still have the d20 that boxed set came with.
