Next Movie Night is Friday, July 19th, starting at 7 (unless anyone needs more/wants less time). Movie nights are themed - you can see theme ideas if you scroll back through my journal. This Movie Night theme will be chosen by special guest [livejournal.com profile] stronae. This invitation is open to all you Atlanta LJers on my friends list. Yes, even if I've never met you. Come on down. :)
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 05:58 am (UTC)
YAY! That's [livejournal.com profile] musicwolf's weekend with the kids!

Lemme know what the theme is before I commit--there are some things I just can't sit through, even with friends.
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 06:01 am (UTC)
Will do. I already know that Moulin Rouge is forbidden - what else?
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 06:12 am (UTC)
I'd have to see the movie list to be sure. But Legend of the Overfiend is right out.

OF course, if you want to do a bad b movie night, I can always bring over Amazon Women on the Moon.
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 06:36 am (UTC)
Ew. No Overfiend. Generally, movies with rape scenes are right out, whether it's humans or tentacle beats or whatever.
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 07:00 am (UTC)
I didn't know there was a movie where a tentacle beast gets raped.

Sorry I can't make it. Well no, I'm not really sorry, because I'll be in Chicago that weekend, and my understanding is it's a toddlin' town.
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 07:03 am (UTC)
All weekend? :( Will you be at the game on Thursday? You can meet [livejournal.com profile] stronae then, at least...
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 07:07 am (UTC)
I'm leaving Friday. Are we gaming Thursday night?

Crap, no. I'm going to see "Death of a Salesman" that Thursday at Georgia Shakespeare Festival.

Yes, I know.
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 07:17 am (UTC)
Death of a Salesman is Shakespearean?

You're going to miss gaming? Poo! When will you meet Our Mouse? And I so wanted you to meet [livejournal.com profile] stronae, you guys think a lot alike...
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 07:29 am (UTC)
Death of a Salesman is Shakespearean?

No. Hence the "yes, I know."

Come on now, 'song, there's no one who thinks like me!
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 07:31 am (UTC)
No one thinks *exactly* like you, no. But you're both guys who not everyone "gets". And I think you would "get" each other.
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 07:34 am (UTC)
No offense, but I'm not enough of a voyeur to really want to see [livejournal.com profile] glenn5 and [livejournal.com profile] stronae getting each other...

At least not without popcorn, a scorecard and a good peanut gallery.
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 07:36 am (UTC)
To quote Tom Servo, nobody gets me! I'm the wind!

The wind, babes!
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 07:42 am (UTC)
*crash* *thunk*

The wind. RIIIIGHT.

:P
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 07:44 am (UTC)
And then to quote Hawkeye Pierce:

"The wind as broken its leg."
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 07:41 am (UTC)
Mmmmmm... that's a particularly luscious mental image. :)

We have kettle corn, you know.
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 01:49 pm (UTC)
Heh. Because I'm too *much* a voyeur to see you and [livejournal.com profile] shadesong getting each other in similar fashion. Ah, well; I've never viewed watching as a social taboo or anything -- after all, it's good if you aren't getting any yourself, and if the people in question don't mind all that much....
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 01:51 pm (UTC)
But it can also be damn frustrating when you aren't getting any yourself...
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 07:18 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I kinda get lost in the watching so much that I don't really notice that I'm not getting any. Until after it's all over, anyway. ::Chuckle::
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 07:46 pm (UTC)
So instead of watching... get some. That's an easy answer.
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 08:49 pm (UTC)
I'll arrange that.

Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 01:58 pm (UTC)
That *would* be a fun evening... :)

Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 09:34 am (UTC)
sounds fun, but i'm performing that night until 10 pm. you could all come out and see my show. ;-)
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 10:24 am (UTC)
What kind of show?
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 10:34 am (UTC)

Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 10:55 am (UTC)
Oooh! Shiny!
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 01:45 pm (UTC)
Wow. I *so* didn't expect this much responsibility in my visit -- it looks like I'm going to have to stop announcing them. :)

Well, off the top of my head, I'm thinking "Farewell My Concubine" or something similarly Asian and dramatic. I don't want to resort to the anime. It occurs to me that I don't really know all that many movies, though to be fair, I haven't seen much anime in the last 18 months, either. Waaaay too busy with other stuff. I'd be honored if my idea doesn't get horribly vetoed immediately.
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 01:57 pm (UTC)
You're the guest, you're not getting vetoed. :) But we don't own that movie - do you?

Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 07:17 pm (UTC)
Negative. But I saw it at Blockbuster's once.
