New people on my list! [livejournal.com profile] astrophysicat, [livejournal.com profile] thunder_muffin, and [livejournal.com profile] root_down, who was listening to the same CD as I was last night.... :)

Whenever I say that - "welcome to my world" - the song that FAO Schwarz plays incessantly in their stores pops into my head. "Welcome to our world, welcome to our world, welcome to our world of toys..."

Erin just asked me if you spell "flaky" with an "e" or not. She was relaying the question from Mary Jane, as neither of them knew. I want to not work with stupid people, please.

I don't have my Carbon Leaf CD with me at work, and am now desperately trying to chase "the Boxer" out of my head with a healthy dose of Glenn Tilbrook.

***squeeze***

I have no music at work. It sucks. Just managed to displace "Welcome to our world of toys" with "Wanderin' Around", though. :)

No music at work? "Snap! How do you live?" (everything can be said with a quote from Zoolander...)

I need to own Zoolander! Want to see it again.

I have the music in my head. Seriously, I "play" full albums in my head.

I've never seen Zoolander is it good?

Also? Welcome to my world? Brings images of Tom Hanks jumping on a floor piano. That's evil.

Really fun movie. Go rent it! :)

Zoolander? or Big?

Zoolander!

Best $14.95 I've ever spent. (okay so I'm prone to hyperbolae)
Andrea and I have only watched it like 10 times, oh my gosh it's been 4 days since we last watched it, I may die from withdrawal...

Darn funny movie, and it just gets better everytime.

That DVD has the best set of menus I've ever seen (better than UHF, even).
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 12:11 pm (UTC)
totally.

The dancing Will Ferrell in the menus is worth the whole DVD.
My favorite joke from the whole thing is actually in one of the special features, the first interview with Ben Stiller and Derek Zoolander. "Enough?, Now you're just making up words!"

And the alternate end titles (with more dancing Will Ferrell) were criminal not to include in the release.

Oh, yeah I'm not obsessed.

I want the operator to stop sending all calls to my office that have anything to do with research at all. So far I've had one call from a patient at Parkland who's looking for someone named Paula regarding her procedures, and one call from a father whose doctor just faxed him 16 pages regarding some new drug, and he wanted me to tell him whether it was a safe drug. I'm sorry, call the doctor that SENT you the information, PLEASE...

//banging my head against the desk seems to be the order of the day//

Yeah. This particular student worker gives me *every* call, even ones that clearly have nothing to do with me, because he can't be bothered to remember who handles what or take a goddamn message.

Actually, you can get away with the "flakey" spelling -- it's a recognized alternative, although not the preferred way.

Did you tell Erin that she was flaky?
Wednesday, July 10th, 2002 08:53 am (UTC)
But it's not *correct*.
