Finally Friday. Happy Friday!
The SARK page-a-day calendar says: "Begin to find and create pleasure in new ways and places. Familiar pleasures are not always the most nourishing choices."
Thomas and I were talking last night about our childhoods, or the lack thereof. This seems to be something that a lot of us have in common.... we didn't really get to be kids.
I want to be a kid now.
So I was thinking - especially when Elayna comes back - that I should do kidthings with her. Not just being a Brownie troop leader or co-leader (however I end up), but taking some time on Saturday and Sunday to blow bubbles. Or design our own shirts with puffy fabric paint. Or color.
Anyone who wants to recapture their kidness is invited to join us. :)

I never stopped being a kid...
Um, can I borrow that stuff from the kids, you think,
Re: I never stopped being a kid...
I'm still not good at the being a kid thing. Never learned how, don't seem to be able to pick it up now.

Like I've been saying for a while, I think kids are cool if you can give them back to their rightful owners when you get tired of them (for me, the threshold seems to be around 6 hours). I think that's part of why I doubt I'll ever seriously want any of my own. I'm too selfish about my own life to want to share my time (yes, that would make being non-single hard, too). One of the benefits of Bitter Spinsterhood--your time is your own, your space is your own, and what you do with them is your responsibility. Lonely, occasionally, but liberating.
