Watching: A prescreening of Eight Legged Freaks tonight.

Reading: At work: "Through Wolf's Eyes" by Jane Lindskold. At home: Just finished "Dating Big Bird"; will now read the next book in that Liaden omnibus.

Wearing: Bone sandals, long blue/green/cream/grey patchwork swirly skirt, stretchy lilac half-sleeve shirt. AriEarrings. Hair has finally grown enough to have the top layer clipped in the back by a sparkly clip again, yay!

You?

Ooh, how was that Lindskold book? Only read Changer and Legends Walking by her...

And if you haven't read those, you should. Those're two of my favorite books lately. :)
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 05:44 am (UTC)
I have read them and I force them upon my friends with missionary zeal. :) Through Wolf's Eyes is good. Not *as* good, as it's high fantasy and I prefer her urban fantasy stuff, but still very good. :)
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 09:30 am (UTC)
Cool, I'll have to check it out, then.

And yeah, I tossed those books at my friend Kragore (more LJ goodness! :) )... we determined that Changer was the bomb, and that Anson was too cool. ;)
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 05:49 am (UTC)
Watching: TIVO'd episodes of Dead Zone, Stargate SG-1 and Outer Limits

Reading: Gaimen's Neverwhere and Shocked by Robin Cook.

Wearing: Nerdwear by Nailed: Dark blue shortsleave cotton shirt, Lands End Pants (some color only my wife would know the name of), a Jerry Garcia tie, LL Bean Penny Loafers (No pennys - Please!), half rim glasses (I need new ones), no pocket protector (call me reckless), 1 pager, 1 Visor Prism, reversible belt (brown, black).
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 06:08 am (UTC)
Watching: HP/Sorceror's Stone, in installments, with the kids
Reading: HP/Goblet of Fire (no, I'm not ready for the next one already!)
Wearing: Sage green tie-back dress with flower embroidery, about 2 sizes too big. Black gel bra, purple panties, black shoes. Yes, I look like a librarian. ;)
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 06:22 am (UTC)
Watching: um, Smallville tonight, maybe. It's Stray.
Reading: Just read this fanfic that was really long
Wearing: Black shoes, black jeans, blue flowered panties, blue striped shirt, black bra, glasses, rings. No headphones, I'm going in late to work cuz I have to go to the bank.

Wearing: Too-tight tan "size 36" pants, blue Land's End shirt, sneakers and white socks.

Um, are your sandals made out of Fone, Smiley, or Phoney?
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 06:55 am (UTC)
Watching: more episodes of The Water Margin (if I get time)

Reading: Alexander and the East by A.B. Bosworth; The Emperor Titus by Brian W. Jones; The Campaigns of Alexander by Arrian; various comic books (from surprisingly on-time monthly delivery).

Wearing: Brown boots, old and faded blue jeans, grey t-shirt, Wimbledon cap, ever-present support bandage on right hand/wrist
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 07:02 am (UTC)
Bone sandals? What animal are they from?

Watching: No time for watching at the moment. Although I like to watch.

Reading: A history book about the Revolution as fought in South Carolina. King David by Kyle Baker.

Wearing: My "fat pants," size 34 khakis. They're too big, but I don't fit into my "skinny pants" (size 30) at the moment. A black polo shirt with the name of the company I used to work for (before it was bought by the company I currently work for) on the left breast and the name of the company I work at on the left sleeve.
Wednesday, July 17th, 2002 04:09 am (UTC)
What did you think of King David?

I thought it cut off a bit abruptly at the end, personally. And there were scenes that I thought should have been covered, but weren't (I think Saul's death is one of the best scenes in the entire Bible, and even Shakespeare plagiarised it). But I loved some of the running gags. And the art.
Wednesday, July 17th, 2002 04:34 am (UTC)
The abrupt ending was about the only thing I liked. The Goliath and the Bathsheba stories were the only ones I remembered from childhood Sunday school, so I wasn't concerned about any omissions.

I don't like his current style, which is closer to illustrated story than comic, but at least he didn't have actor directions this time around, so it wasn't quite as blatantly screenplay-ready.

The colors hurt my eyes. It could have been colored by the art director for Wired magazine. The colors are awful.

Watching... the clock crawl, already waiting for the time I can bust out of this hellhole and go home. I'm also hoping we get to go to the movies tonight to see Reign of Fire. Alternatively, it'll be Buffy and Angel reruns
Reading... Fatal... ummm... can't remember the author off hand but it's a great book. I'm zooming through it. Finished Dreamcatcher on the weekend. Still trying to figure out if I liked the ending or not...
Wearing... sneakers, blue socks, black pants, white panties and bra, purple/blue/burgandy/pink funky blouse, silver watch, black celtic knot earrings (home made by me!), and a generally tired/disenchanted expression
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 07:19 am (UTC)
Watching: Uh, tonight, Buffy rerun, I guess. Or my computer monitor.

Reading: "Servant of the Empire," Raymond Feist and Janny Wurts.

Wearing: Black sleeveless T, stretch denim leggings, black suede sandals, plus the usual accessories. Hair down, psuedo pigtails at sides. Fresh new nail and toe polish in "Amber Blaze."
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 07:30 am (UTC)
watching: Probably nothing, maybe BattleBots tonight

Reading at work and in bed: Shadowland by Peter Straub.
Reading at home when a hardback won't fall on my face: A Clifford Simak shortstory collection whose name escapes me. Gorgeous golden age sf.

wearing: dull dull dull. But if you ask this during fest on a weekend I can answer with "peasant shirt, great kilt, beret" :)
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 09:51 am (UTC)
Watching: Maybe Stuart Little on dvd at home. Or Made, bought that, haven't watched it.

Reading: American Gods, Gaiman.

Wearing: size 34 Levi's, black socks, black Vans, black MIBII shirt (it's acutally pretty, with green flowers on the front)
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 10:31 am (UTC)
Watching -- LJ at the moment -- maybe _Reign of Fire_ tonight, if I feel like going to the theatre by myself (no one wants to come with me)

Reading -- _One Hundred Years of Solitude_ Gabriel Garcia Marquez

Wearing -- navy blue dress pants, light blue cotton shirt with darker blue flower pattern, dress flats and knee high hose, watch, bracelets, small triskell and hoop earrings, rings, pentagram, raven pendant.
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 10:48 am (UTC)
Watching: Paint dry.

Reading: At Work - LJ, of course, what else?
At Home, many things, "Starship Titanic" just got picked up again though...

Wearing: Green long-sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up, khakis, black cotton socks, loafers that should have been retired 500 miles ago but are too comfortable (besides being technically 1.5 sizes too big...it's like walking barefoot, I like), an incredibly bored expression...
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 01:24 pm (UTC)
watching - nothing, we haven't looked at the tv in weeks. Too busy.

reading - Deep Wizardry by Diane Duane. After Wicked I needed something a little less thoughtful!

wearing - cream cotton short sleeved pullover with green ferns/flowers, green denim pants, river shoes, blue cotton undies, copper bra. No different jewelry - wedding bands I & II, pearl earrings, mom's gold/diamond bell. And my hair in the ever-present bun - CJ is getting tired of it and has begun to demand my hair be down occasionally! She says she forgets what it looks like.
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 02:48 pm (UTC)
Watching: Well, we might watch the tape of Monday night's Witchblade tonight. Maybe.

Reading: Onion Girl by Charles de Lint. I finished Kushiel's Dart and Kushiel's Chosen on Sunday and want Carey to get Kushiel's Avatar out before the scheduled 2003 release date, dangit.

Wearing: Black cotton ants and turquoise shirt with the Girl Scout leader insignia still pinned to it. We just got back from a trip to the zoo with the troop a little while ago. I need to go shower, though!
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 06:27 pm (UTC)
Reading? Chicks In Chainmail and enjoying it rather less than I thought I would. Ought to have known that Esther Friesner, having no sense of humour of her own, would spoil everything she touches.

Wearing? Jeans and a " 'Stang 2K" T-shirt, courtesy of my mother. And shoes, of course.

Watching? Nothing.
