Just had to rescue two chocolate-covered espresso beans from my cleavage.

Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 01:11 pm (UTC)
Those pesky things...

...Know of any good places to come by them, especially in bulk? I've been needy for a while.
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 01:12 pm (UTC)
I get mine from Caribou Coffee - do you have a Caribou near you?
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 01:14 pm (UTC)
Don't know. I used to get mine from the Country Kitchen (in Fairbanks) but have yet to research a good source for them locally (Phoenix).
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 01:32 pm (UTC)
Well, it's not local but they are very good:

I didn't realize they had Caribou that far south.

Lucky beans. *decides to go home and do a coffee bean impression for his sweeties*
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 02:21 pm (UTC)
See, you should *get* some coffee beans, and toss them into your sweeties' cleavage, and the retrieve them without using your hands. :)

/me refrains from a variety of comments...

What type of bean and what type of chocolate? C'mon. Those of us in Seattle want to know... :)
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 01:25 pm (UTC)
Reindeer Nibblers from Caribou Coffee. :)
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 01:38 pm (UTC)
But are we talking dark, bitter, or milk chocolate?
What was the degree of wax in the chocolate. This will tells us how quickly it melts...

/me is really, really into dark chocolate...
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 01:43 pm (UTC)
mmmmmmmmmmmmmohyes, especially dark chocolate espresso beans. *droooooooooool* so are you into Girardelli? Godiva? ????
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 02:16 pm (UTC)
/me realizes that he's going to sound like a snob about this but I don't see a way around it.

Well, Ghiradelli and Godiva are in a class of chocolate just below the stuff that I generally like.

Probably the easiest to find of the chocolates that I do like would be Valrhona Le Noir Amer. You can see what the package looks like on [livejournal.com profile] shirleym's userinfo page.
It's not Michel Cluizel Amer, Swartenbroeckx Noir, or Chocolat Bonat but you would probably have much difficulty finding those. Valrhona tends to be a bit too crumbly to get the best marks.
With the Cluizel Amer 85%, just one piece tends to be "enough chocolate".
The Swartenbroeckx Noir has been called pharmaceutical grade chocolate.
The Chocolat Bonnat is a Sri Lankan Varietal that has to be the perfect chocolate but it's the only one that I've not been able to find again. Arghh!

Another chocolate that you might be able to find is Scharffen Berger 72%.

The other chocolates that I've found in this category are:
Chocolove Extra Strong Dark
Chocolove Strong Dark
Rapunzel Pure Organic Swiss Chocolate

The Chocolove have a different love poem in each one...

I should probably turn all of this into a web page...

Dark chocolate - not sure how much wax. I'm home now and the package is at work...

Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 03:00 pm (UTC)
That's where guess occurs.
Did they mostly not melt while leaving little chocolate spots or did the chocolate quickly melt, the chocolate quickly flowing down the curve of your cleavage making it more difficult and more interesting to clean up?
Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 06:39 pm (UTC)
Mostly not melt, which I guess means high wax content... I'll have [livejournal.com profile] yendi inspect my cleavage later to be sure. :)

Tuesday, July 16th, 2002 01:24 pm (UTC)

Chocolate down the cleavage is never subtle. I have been there many times. Today I managed to dump water down my front *without* getting my shirt wet. Right straight down my cleavage. Durring the crit session this morning. So surrounded by 20 some people. Luckily, only two of my (guy) friends were looking at me. They both snickered at me. I did not jump up or shriek though, so I give myself props for that.
