Today was a great day! No, seriously, it really truly was. :) Just after my post this morning, [livejournal.com profile] karlita showed us a house that she'd mentioned to us. It was so perfect. Seriously. I may describe it at a later date, but... it was so perfect for us, for our lifestyle, it had enough space, it's got a flat backyard (and big backyard!) so we could build an addition if we wanted/needed to.... it actually had closets... :) [livejournal.com profile] karlita said that we ought to use our imaginations, as this was owned by a little old lady who put in heavy drapes and ugly aqua carpeting - but it has hardwood floors beneath that carpet, and drapes are easily replaced.

So yeah. We love it. We'll have to shop around a bit, see what else is out there... but really, this is a great house in an awesome location for way less than you'd expect to pay around here.

Then to downtown Decatur! We (being [livejournal.com profile] yendi, [livejournal.com profile] gwynraven, me, and Elayna) wandered through all of the nifty shops, and I got quite a bit of holiday shopping done, lots of "Oooh! That's perfect for..."

Then JavaMonkey! That's part of my official Atlanta tour by now. We met the fabulous [livejournal.com profile] kyoki_tenchi, who will soon be moving to Atlanta (as will Gwyn, once she finishes school). And [livejournal.com profile] sunyata__ and [livejournal.com profile] asim are seriously considering moving here. Everyone will move to Atlanta. The Nexus commands you. All your base are belong to us. Resistance is futile.

Where was I? Oh, yeah.

So! Attendees include my group described above, [livejournal.com profile] kyoki_tenchi and her man Michael, [livejournal.com profile] arimathea, [livejournal.com profile] sibylla, [livejournal.com profile] ryokan, [livejournal.com profile] mermaidblue, [livejournal.com profile] irana, [livejournal.com profile] faekitty, [livejournal.com profile] vidicon, [livejournal.com profile] karlita... if I have forgotten anyone, please forgive me; chalk it up to my swiss-cheese temporal lobe.

Hey, there are some pictures! Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] karlita!

That is my sock.

The other ones are in Karla's journal. Permission to post them openly, guys?

Also, Karla, can I get the link to the one you send me of Elayna and I where she's actually looking at the camera and I'm in profile? I think we both look good in that one.

Anyway! There was Noodle. And now I am home in cozy warmth. And we watched the Kim Possible movie, which rocked, and which totally riffed on the 1960s Batman movie by having all of the disparate villians team up. [livejournal.com profile] gwynraven has just left us, and we are settling in for a relaxing evening of balancing the checkbook (shut up, I actually like doing that!) and tagging all of the new holiday presents and recording them in my files. Yes, I have files. I'm very serious about this, you know.

Okay. I shall now catch up on my friends list. :)

Hiya - you can always post what's in my LJ - and I'll email you the link to the one you like - glad you like it - it's a big victory to come up with a picture that works! Yay!

I'm continually amazed at how much the two of you favor each other!!! No doubt that you are mother and daughter, and both very very beautiful.

Yay, thanks! Though she's so much prettier....

...than most little girls, but a lovely match for her mother.

The Kim Possible Movie was quite good. The series does a good job of not taking itself to seriously, and does some good riffs on the superhero/spy genres.

*nods* There aren't many kids' shows that our whole family enjoys, but KP is definitely one of them!

Every time I see Dr. Drakken I get Freakazoid flash backs.

That was another show that used to do a good job at poking fun at the superhero genre, while still being a good superhero show.

Consider this permission to post any pictures of me and/or my socks from here on out. I trust you and your taste. :) Forthwith and in perpetuity.

I'm actually applying for a job in Atlanta post-graduation.

At least I think it's in Atlanta. Or soon will be, with the rate of growth.

One of these days I must go with you on one of your JavaMonkey trips. I keep missing out on much fun.

You really should! :)

Everyone will move to Atlanta. The Nexus commands you. All your base are belong to us. Resistance is futile.

I am not moving anywhere where they don't understand what the white lines on the road are for. :) As much as I think I'd have a hell of a lot of fun living in the Nexus...

All hail Rufus Prime!

Actually, I'm looking at Atlanta as a place to move, too. I have a Plan: I'm visiting some cities, scheduling job interviews for before I leave, and hoping for the best. Wish me luck!

It would be so nifty to have you here! Are you looking at Turner as a possible place to work, you being in broadcasting and all? [livejournal.com profile] irana and [livejournal.com profile] kungfoogirl both work there, you could talk to them....

So yes, luck! And I have to take you on the whirlwind tour of the best places in Atlanta when you visit. :)

I'm trying to stay out of news, but I think working at Turner would be a valuable experience. That's part of the reason I was looking at Atlanta.

What do they do for Turner?

[livejournal.com profile] irana works in administration at Cartoon Network... I'm not sure what [livejournal.com profile] kungfoogirl does, I'll ask.

Sorry, lass, I just got a new job, and there's no chance in hell that I'm moving now to Atlanta...
