MSNBC had the story at least yesterday. I ran tests on my own yahoo mail, and was not able to replicate the behavior. Has this been observed directly?

There was a big thread about it a while back in one of the group-owners help groups at YGroups. It eventually died away as it wasn't like we could really do anything about it. If it isn't happening now it's possible that public ridicule has done what the actual users never could and got Yahoo to alter their behaviour.

I use Yahoo and I've noticed it before. One of the things they change is "expression" to "statement". I read a lot of fiction through email so I kept coming across people with interesting facial statements in the fics. Made me wonder if that was the new vogue phrase. And then a discussion on midireview politics had me wondering if I'd missed the new politically correct term for the era. I was glad to find out that I wasn't going crazy and it was just Yahoo messing with my mail.
