Just got a few e-mails from our Girl Scout service unit director, one of which included this paragraph:
"In addition to starting a new Daisy troop this year at Briar Vista, we'd like to start another Brownie troop (to be led by <'song>) and a Junior troop (we need leaders, though). So, in addition to recruiting girls, we want to recruit Daisy leaders, an assistant leader for <'song> and two Junior leaders."
(but using my real name, which I don't use on LJ)
I get my own troop.
I get my own troop!!!
I get to be a full-on troop leader. And
mousegrrl has already agreed to be my co-leader. Kick. Ass. I get to mold young minds in my very own way, on my schedule. I get to actually plan the activities instead of leading meetings with no preparation. Kick. Ass.
At the same time, I'm a bit intimidated. And I need to take the first aid class, like, right now.
*squee*

LJ is a bitch.
anyway. I think you getting your own troop is very cool, but this line? "I get to mold young minds in my very own way..." frightens me a little. =)

Seriously, though, I had such angst with the idiot troop leader last year - I'm so thrilled to have my own troop and be able to handle things my way. Especially with Mouse as my coleader, we're one mind in two teeny little bodies.
Hmmm, we can do a karate demo to help get the sports patch...

Congrats to you both. Seriously, I'm sure the troop will be a great success.
