...in the light...

The image lingering in my head this morning is one that most of you know.... the end of "The Dark Crystal", when the Ur'ru and the Skeksis rejoin, becoming these exquisite, dazzling, *complete* beings.

And it reminded me of us.

Too often, we separate our "good" and "bad" sides. We hide the "negative" emotions. I'm currently working on keeping myself from doing this. :) I mean, it's an old saw, but it's the truth - without darkness there can be no light. And darkness is as nurturing as light is, in its own way.

We are all beings of luminous beauty.

Hush, darkmattr, really. We *are*. Together, our pretty and unpretty sides - we *shine*. We *are* the light.

This is what I see when I look at my friends.

Your mission for today is to not only find that light, that beauty, the imperfect perfection in yourself, but also to find it in someone you didn't think had it.

Sounding kinda quakerly this AM... but it is a very good mission. I think that alot of people forget how lucky we are to be able to conect and meet and share.

It's also harder to see in yourself. It's that whole "your own worst critic" thing, I suppose. There's every possiblility that other people think I'm much more amazing than I think I am. Really. And I'm sure I think other people are much more amazing than they think they are too.
