This doesn't make it all better, but it does make me smile.... on his way out, Prof. M. said that I was the only secretary with any work ethic. Also that, in his opinion, I was the best the department had ever had.

Which, y'know, may just be that he ws buttering me up. But it gave me a warm fuzzy feeling.

It is always good to be appreciated. And people don't make that extreme of compliments if they're not sincere. Smaller more believable compliments work better for buttering someone up. :)
