She's back!

Elayna returned from her camping trip at 11 AM, full of stories, with a bag full of crafts. She had a *wonderful* time... she only injured herself once (was so excited about being at camp that she was jumping up and down, tripped, fell down, and cut her f inger on Raven's safety whistle), and she only completely ruined one article of clothing - fortunately, it was the jeans that were developing a hole in the knee. And they did nature scavenger hunts. And it was raining, so they didn't do campfires, but th ey did nonmelty s'mores. And they traded lots of SWAPs (for non-Girl Scouts - SWAPs are little handmade pins that girls trade at gatherings of more than one troop). And the adorable jean jacket with rhinestones and silver embroidered stars that we thought was lost forever miraculously appeared in her backpack. And she had *no* trouble getting to sleep and keeping up with the bigger kids, so poo on the troop leader who was skeptical about her abilities - I know my daughter!

And I swear she grew over the weekend. She looks taller!

even though the "grown-up" time this weekend must have been nice, i bet you're really happy that she's home... =)

Sure am. :) It was a different feeling than when she's with my parents, simply because this weekend, there was so much potential for things to go Horribly Wrong... but they didn't, yay!

And I swear she grew over the weekend. She looks taller!

I forgot to mention -- I measured her yesterday. She's about a quarter of an inch taller than when we last measured her (about two weeks ago).
