Ah, apathy. A service unit with over 500 girls, and only about 20 leaders/co-leaders/parents showed up to the yearly planning meeting.
The 20 of us who *did* show up were not only able to basically create the service unit calendar for 2002-2003 and suggest ideas, but also to veto ideas. Muahahaha. I'm kinda high on power right now. :) And Mouse and I volunteered to be the decorating committee for the father-daughter dance, and I'll work at the lock-in, and I'm coordinating the Girl Scout signup booth at Elayna's school's registration day. I have lists and hand-outs and a three-part posterboard. I'm all official.

it was cool, though -- a couple of Senior Girl Scouts showed up to participate in the planning! [these are the high-school age girls; there are apparently rather a lot of the older Cadettes and Senior Girl Scouts in our area.] i've never even seen a Senior before, and i was in Scouting as a kid for quite a few years...
