Week 3 of moving hell and not having a schedule at work
Day 4 of my parents' visit
Day 2 or my new facial tic. Right eye. Twitching insanely. Dammit.

Spoke to my parents about that conversation with my sister, the manipulative one... told them exactly what I posted, that I felt Ali was manipulating Elayna, and that she should think and be more supportive as hello, we are not moving back, so prolonging the issue won't help. Mom said that Elayna really did say that she wished we could all live in the same place - but it was probably fleeting. She said Ali didn't mean to be harmful; I said that I knew, but I'd appreciate it if she'd think before she speaks on stuff like this. It went fairly well, I think.

It went very well. Mind you, I think they're in denial, but they responded without attempting to put any blame on you, which was a miracle.

When Katie was little she talked about wanting me, her father, our current spouses and their children (and their children, in my case) and my parents and siblings to all live together in a really, really big house. But unlike your sister, nobody took it as anything but wishful thinking.

Good for you! You're the only adult in that family; talking straight and honestly about a situation (instead of pretending it doesn't exist or lying) reinforces that.

I think, in the end, it will improve your relationships with them all. Might even help that eye tic. :)
