The Friday Five is lame this week, so I'm doing my own thing.

What are you wearing?
Me: Sneakers; jeans; new Express shirt with the dusky pink, tan, and black swirls, witchy cuffs tied with black velvet ribbons (also tied at the scoop neckline); Balinese moonstone/amethyst/garnet earrings; hair in stealth pigtails.

What are you reading?
Me: At lunch: The Disappeared by Kristine Kathryn Rusch. At home: Comics (Westfield delivered this week!), and I'm about to start Pat Cadigan's "Dervish is Digital".

What are you doing this weekend?
Me: Movie Night at my house on Saturday! Sunday, I'll be resting... :)

You?

And now you guys ask *me* a question.
Friday, August 9th, 2002 07:00 am (UTC)
What movies are you gonna watch? I will be ingrossed in to the diretors cut of "The Big Blue" by Luc Besson
Friday, August 9th, 2002 07:03 am (UTC)
Not sure... we'll decide when people get here!

Hey, you added me again! Are you going to stick around this time? Last time you dropped me after a day. *pout*
Friday, August 9th, 2002 07:13 am (UTC)
okay I will stay. =0) I promise! Have you seen Vanilla sky it would be a good lil mind muck film.
Friday, August 9th, 2002 07:31 am (UTC)
Haven't seen it... I heard it wasn't that good, though... heard the original was way better.
Friday, August 9th, 2002 07:38 am (UTC)
Abre Los Ojos (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0125659) is way better. Still I think many people don't like reading subtitles. Yes the original is better.
Friday, August 9th, 2002 09:13 am (UTC)
It was ok, but watched casually it wasn't all that, and watched intently with an eye for symbols and deep meanings, it wasn't all that with more work.

But Penelope Cruz looks like a very a nice person or something.

Friday, August 9th, 2002 07:30 am (UTC)
1. Black shoes, black jeans, grey panties, blue striped shirt, white bra, wedding ring, grandma's ring, headphone, glasses.

2. Nothing at the moment. Thinking of buying a romance novel.

3. Possibly going to see signs tomorrow. Other than that. Nothing. Nada. Avoiding housework.

You question: How early is too early to get to your house Friday before DragonCon? We're leaving our house about 7-8, picking [livejournal.com profile] adellyna up about 11-12, getting to your house like 5-6? Maybe 7? depends on the stops. Are you going to hate us? Can Elayna just let us in? We'll be quiet, and I know she'll be up =)
Friday, August 9th, 2002 07:33 am (UTC)
Okay, wait - you're talking 5-6 AM?

AM?

You people are nuts!

6 would be ideal - she'll be waking up around then, and Adam and I will be up. 5 would be too early.
Friday, August 9th, 2002 07:36 am (UTC)
Yes, we are nuts. I thought that had been established. =)

Well, if we get there too early, we'll jsut sleep in the car till you wake us up. Or go out to breakfast. Whichever.
Friday, August 9th, 2002 07:38 am (UTC)
Yeah, the Starbucks up the street might be open. And you would definitely be in need of caffeine. Pick me up an iced chai if you go!
Friday, August 9th, 2002 07:40 am (UTC)
Have I mentioned that I'm excited about this? We got the trip thingy in the mail yesterday from AAA and it's so cool! Maps and arrows and they draw the whole trip out and point out where there might be construction...

Maybe we won't leave till 9. That would put us there about 8. That'd probably be better.
Friday, August 9th, 2002 07:42 am (UTC)
At 6, you'd have to deal with us getting her ready for school.... but you'd get to see her off on the school bus. :) 8 would be okay, though.
Friday, August 9th, 2002 07:56 am (UTC)
What time on the bus. Us being there might mess up her schedule or something.
Friday, August 9th, 2002 07:57 am (UTC)
7.
Friday, August 9th, 2002 08:12 am (UTC)
i'm going to need directions, please! :)
Friday, August 9th, 2002 08:52 am (UTC)
Is your e-mail just ilexx@livejournal.com?
Friday, August 9th, 2002 12:14 pm (UTC)
[livejournal.com profile] yendi will send you directions. :)
Friday, August 9th, 2002 08:17 am (UTC)
What are you wearing? From bottom to top:
black slip-on flats with lace inserts across the front
black jeans with V-yoke
royal red tank top with same-colour embroidery at the scoop neckline
black bolero

I love wearing boleros. I need more, in different colours and styles, and more clothes that they go well with. They suit my shape, make me look and feel stylish, and I bounce and smile even more than normal because they make me feel all Barrayaran.

(I'd mention the underwear, but it's all boring beige cotton stuff.)

What are you reading?
Rules of Engagement, by Elizabeth Moon. I've owned it for a while...I love the series, I love the two main characters, but for some reason I've never finished this book. I keep starting it and dropping off about half-way through. This is annoying as hell, because there are two more books in the series by now, and I can't justify going to get them until I read THIS one!

What are you doing this weekend?
Going to AUSTIN!! Woohoo!!!!
Friday, August 9th, 2002 08:52 am (UTC)
I've never worn a bolero! Maybe I should try one on....
Friday, August 9th, 2002 09:14 am (UTC)
Oooops...somebody, ie, ME, forgot a /b code somewhere in that comment! Riiiiight at the tippy-top! *growls at self*

And boleros look FABulous with tight tank tops. Especially with a swirly, swishy skirt.
Friday, August 9th, 2002 09:12 am (UTC)
What are you wearing?
white sleeves top
red bandana-print capris
white socks
white Keds
white cotton Jack Skellington thong
white lace bra

What are you reading?
At the moment, LJ. For a book: almost through _American Gods_. _The Eyre Affair_ is on deck.

What are you doing this weekend?
Tonight: cocktails with the neighbors, finishing FOTR dvd with my mom (who is actually following it pretty well)
Saturday: AM: getting my roots done, a wee bit of shopping in SF. Not sure the rest of the day
Sunday: have a BBQ to attend, not much else

And now you guys ask *me* a question.
If you could change one thing about your life right now, what would it be?
Friday, August 9th, 2002 11:50 am (UTC)
I'd change my job. I like Emory, but this office is driving me crazy; I'm sick of working with stupid people!

You?
Friday, August 9th, 2002 09:25 am (UTC)
What are you wearing?
capri overalls
subversive shirt (the workshirt from my last best job, hoping for good new vibes)
purple cotton panties
silver knotwork bra
the jewelry trinity

What are you reading?
Finishing up Bangs and Whimpers; CJ made me stop a while ago because I was starting to have bad dreams, but I've only got a few stories left. On deck, a whole shelf-full, so who knows. Something light, that's for sure.

What are you doing this weekend?
Possibly Erotica tonight, definitely Oregon Leather contest tomorrow night, to cheer on one of the Ms. Leather contestants. Hopefully to the river to swim on Saturday day or Sunday, too.

A question for you: How in the world do you keep up with everyone you have as friends? :)
Friday, August 9th, 2002 11:56 am (UTC)
Mmmm.. erotica and leather... :)

Um. Well, I haven't been keeping up too well the past few weeks! But usually it's slow at work, and I'm able to manage nicely. Also, keep in mind that the people on my list range from people like [livejournal.com profile] mfree and [livejournal.com profile] azurelunatic who post all-day-every-day to people like you and [livejournal.com profile] melintur who post a few times a week, to people like [livejournal.com profile] sponsoredby and [livejournal.com profile] settsimaksimin, who only post every few weeks. So it's usually not too overwhelming on a daily basis. :)
Friday, August 9th, 2002 09:55 am (UTC)
What time is Movie Night tomorrow? The invite yesterday didn't say. 4 or so, like the last (aborted) one?

cheers,
Phil
Friday, August 9th, 2002 12:00 pm (UTC)
Mmmm. Maybe start at 5 this time? Not sure yet what time my parents are clearing out, so let's say 5.
Friday, August 9th, 2002 10:03 am (UTC)
wearing: olive-brown army men's undershirt, black bra, white panties, jean shorts. Spare shirt needs to go in backpack - by the time I bike to the airport for lessons, I'll be soaked in sweat.

reading: Private Pilot Maneuvers, chapters - emergency landing section, and flight maneuvers section. Also, San Francisco sectional(map).

doing this weekend: Ashes is doing the planning, because it's her 23rd birthday. Would like to go see some of the huge trees California's famous for before I leave - but it's up to her. I can always come back. Prolly another flight lesson, but I'm delaying scheduling that 'til I have her plans. Also a bit of Everquest, and working on the FAFSA. Possibly trying to figure a way to see Corva before I leave California - I really would like to see the crowmamma.

question for you: ignoring limits of money & time, where in the world would you go? multiple destinations allowed. :-)
Friday, August 9th, 2002 12:01 pm (UTC)
Oh, wow... I'd go everywhere! Japan and Tibet, Norway, Ireland, Scotland, Greece.... everywhere.
Friday, August 9th, 2002 10:37 am (UTC)

I can't remember the name of it, some fantasy thing.

This weekend:
I am riding tonight and tomorrow day, then I have 2 parties to attend tomorrow evening and a bbq on Sunday. I am hoping to get a lot of practice riding my bike. I want John to bring home a bike from work (my husband works at Harley-Davidson) so we can ride together.

When you were in high school, are you where you pictured you would be when you imagined you future?
Friday, August 9th, 2002 11:00 am (UTC)

Friday, August 9th, 2002 11:16 am (UTC)
There WAS stuff happening, but we were too busy riding motorcycles and not sleeping to go!! Crazy head. And if you wanna do all that, just come on up!! I'm waiting!!

Friday, August 9th, 2002 12:03 pm (UTC)
Honestly, when I was in high school, I didn't think I'd live to be this age. I thought I'd do a spectacular crash-and-burn. Melodramatic, but true!

You?
Friday, August 9th, 2002 12:18 pm (UTC)
I figured rock star, or suzy homemaker. I did NOT picture working in a drug testing lab.
Friday, August 9th, 2002 11:38 am (UTC)
