Okay.
Does anyone actually *read* people's profiles before e-mailing them?
Because I make it mind-bogglingly clear in mine in, like, three places that I'm very taken and and looking for an e-mail-only outlet. And yet I get all these e-mails from people looking for, not only real-life relationships, but 24/7 live-ins. Umm, hello?
I discard those immediately. And those that start off by giving me orders without bothering to get to know me. And those who are over 55, because I like older men, but not *that* much older; I do *not* have a father fetish, and it squicks me that these guys may have a daughter fetish (my age is listed). And those with shitloads of typos and grammatical errors, because I'm sorry, I'm not submitting to anyone less intelligent than me. Which narrows the field, but hey. :)
(but, dammit, there are two e-mails that have actually piqued my curiosity...)§

What I don't understand is people who are looking for a 24/7 live in relationship with someone they've never met, who expect that person to drop everything and move to a new city based on an e-mail exchange. I know I'm unreasonable, but I look for people, and then try to see what sort of relationship can be built with that person. It seems to me like those people have it backwards, they have a relationship model, and they are looking for anyone willing to fill it.
