Okay.

Does anyone actually *read* people's profiles before e-mailing them?

Because I make it mind-bogglingly clear in mine in, like, three places that I'm very taken and and looking for an e-mail-only outlet. And yet I get all these e-mails from people looking for, not only real-life relationships, but 24/7 live-ins. Umm, hello?

I discard those immediately. And those that start off by giving me orders without bothering to get to know me. And those who are over 55, because I like older men, but not *that* much older; I do *not* have a father fetish, and it squicks me that these guys may have a daughter fetish (my age is listed). And those with shitloads of typos and grammatical errors, because I'm sorry, I'm not submitting to anyone less intelligent than me. Which narrows the field, but hey. :)

(but, dammit, there are two e-mails that have actually piqued my curiosity...)§

*raises right eyebrow* I wouldn't say I'm less intelligent than you are and I KNOW that i have grammatical errors and typo's all over the place. It's because my intelligence has a nice vague sheen over it though. I don't worry about those sort of things - my mind isn't programmed for that type of minutae. I'd hardly list myself as less intelligent though.

Not that I'me-mail dom stuff to you anyway. But still I like to point out.

Yeah, but in your messages, your basic intelligence does come through... and if you were e-mailing someone like that, you'd probably at least give your e-mail a once-over to at least try to make a decent first impression....

So where is this profile anyway? :)

Heh. I am *so* not posting that.

You've got my email, send it to me. Or don't, up to you. :) I'm not trying to hit on you or anything, I'm just wondering what it says.

The ones who send the most mail just don't have time to read all the pesky profiles.

What I don't understand is people who are looking for a 24/7 live in relationship with someone they've never met, who expect that person to drop everything and move to a new city based on an e-mail exchange. I know I'm unreasonable, but I look for people, and then try to see what sort of relationship can be built with that person. It seems to me like those people have it backwards, they have a relationship model, and they are looking for anyone willing to fill it.
