Woody - now named Lexi - popped again.

Yeah. More baby gerbils. At least 5. She was nursing 'em, so I couldn't really tell.

*sigh*

So. Do me a favor? Atlanta-area people with kids? See if your kids' school/preschool needs class pets? Because we have 7 ready to go like right now, and will have more in 6 weeks...

(yes, there were 8 original babies; one's spoken for.)

OH....MY....more, eh? Goodness! You really DO have your hands full!

Since neutering isn't really practical on a beastie that size, I think you need to seperate those two. Evidently too much time near the rabbits in the petshop.

According to the VP at my company, you CAN get any female rodent pet neutered, but he said it costs A LOT, especially when you consider what you originally paid for it. He knows coz they had their rodent (gerbil I think, may have been hamster) neutered when his kids were younger for the same reason [livejournal.com profile] shadesong is living.

You need a snake.

*shudder* No. No, I do not.

You need a friend with a snake, who just tells you they know lots of gerbil frindly families?

Damn. I think I have a new model for fertility.

Definitely need to separate those adults, though. Obviously, nursing isn't effective birth control for well-fed rodents any more than it is for humans.

Ok, you have separated those two, right? Because the web page that somebody posted last night said that the male will re-impregnate the female right after she's given birth (geez, give the poor girl a break).

I wish we could have one! I love gerbils! They're illegal in Cali. I think I'm at my max for illegal pets. :)

Why on earth are they illegal?

We han't separated them yet. :( Didn't think she was *that* close to popping...
