I am awake and more-than-slightly overwhelmed.

Hi to new friend [livejournal.com profile] skylion, by the way! *waves*

So. On to the overwhelmingness. Things I have to do. In two categories.

Girl Scouts:
Call all the parents to arrange the parent meeting (I hate telephones!).
Go to the GS store and buy more Stuff.
Sit down with [livejournal.com profile] mousegrrl and review all of the materials with her.
Register for more GS training courses.
Make a poster of the GS promise & law for the meeting.
Find a place to meet! My service unit director's recommendations are all churches and the Y. I'm just not all that comfortable meeting at churches (for the new people, I'm Jewish/pagan); it feels exclusionary. But the library charges $20 per use. Any ideas?
Clean my house!

For Shayara (plug: join [livejournal.com profile] shayara if interested!):
Get with [livejournal.com profile] mousegrrl and [livejournal.com profile] metaphorge on the website design.
Finish the House bios and write up a simple introduction & history for the site.
Whip [livejournal.com profile] mousegrrl's butt til she gives me storyboards, then pencils for issue #1.
Finish issue #4!

For DragonCon:
Try to get Elayna's friend's parents to ask her over for a sleepover that Friday night so we can be rowdy.
Try to find a daytime babysitting solution.
Actually look at the website and do some planning!
Print up Shayara flyers if the website's going to be ready.
Get stuff ready for a week of houseguests.

This is all in the next two weeks.

*whimper*

So. Now off to take kid to karate. Then to GS store. Wish me luck, y'all....

Best of luck to you today. Sounds like you have a great day ahead of you. Better than putzing around waiting til you have to go to work.

On the GS meeting place. I would recommend you look at the library. I know how you feel about the exclusion thing.

Ah, but the library charges a fee of $20.00 per use. With twice-monthly meetings, that's $480.00 a year... I don't think the girls want their Girl Scout dues being that high! :) We've got to find a place that will let us meet there for free...

From what I've picked up in your entries you live in a house and not a townhouse or an apartment. Does your community have a neighborhood clubhouse/pool area that you could use? If you don't, does one of the other parents that's volunteered to help you have access to such? When I was starting out in cub scouts, my den leader lived in an apartment complex, so almost all of the large family gatherings were held in its clubhouse.

Our house isn't in a community association, but I'm planning to poll the other moms. Thanks for the idea! :)
