Sleep Factor
Bed at 1-something. Difficulty getting to sleep, but no trouble staying asleep, which is a novelty this week. I was half tired, half wired from tentacle-ectomy ritual last night.

Catching Up
There's no way in hell that I'll ever catch up on my friends page. I wasn't online for more than 10 minutes yesterday, and I spent none of that on my friends page. So let me know if there's anything in particular that I should see.

I have not been able to reply to e-mail in about three days. Time/energy deficit. I'm not ignoring you guys! (Esp. the message-of-support guys!) I'll try to get to this today; if not, I can do it tomorrow between posts. Speaking of which, once I slog through about 50 new messages, I'll be able to post an updated total. Thank you guys. :)

At home: Still Ted Sturgeon's Microcosmic God collection. Incidentally, how geeky is it that I saw a mention of "Chip" in the foreword and instantly knew that it was Samuel R. Delany? Y'all should read Dhalgren if you haven't already. Seriously.

Blog-A-Thon!

And so it begins....

Blog-A-Thon 2004 starts tomorrow at 9 AM.

If you're just joining us, this is what Blog-A-Thon entails: I commit to posting every half hour for 24 hours - and all-nighter for charity. You donate to the charity of my choice - The Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network. They were my charity last year as well, and I was very proud to have raised $1,700+ for them.

(The + is because a lot of people upped their donation when they saw that for a few dollars more they'd get a T-shirt or keychain ($50 and $25, respectively). I don't know how many people.)

As I said - last year I raised nearly $2K. This year, I'd like to break my record; I think I have a shot at doing so because there are many more of you!

My current total is $545 - due partially to the $5 and $10 donations. So don't think it's too little a sum. It adds up. If you don't have a credit card, you may send me a check or money order made out to RAINN. If you donate online, e-mail me your receipt so I can keep track! Also, if you have not received a thank-you e-mail from me, I have not received notification of your donation...

RAINN is an excellent charity, and I beg you to support it.

I was very good today.

Master gave me an order last month that I hated, and I was incredibly bratty about it - and not in the good way. I was angry and resentful and just bad. And this was related to something that I was having difficulty doing. And yeah, Master was not happy about this. Due to the fact that this was during the moving chaos, he told me that we were officially shelving the matter for six months, so we wouldn't end up fighting about it.

He's not much for formal orders. Most of his instructions for me aren't remotely sexual... I'm to take care of myself physically (eating properly, taking my vitamins, not pushing myself to do things that I physically can't handle), make sure I take writing time, etc. Because he knows that sometimes I'll push these things off to the side and concentrate on other-people things. But he's told me what I need to do.

And most of the sexual orders, of which there are very few, I can deal with just fine. There was one he thought I'd take months to manage, but I was very determined and did it in one weekend, and it was a triggery thing and I *did* it, and that's why he took me to Vegas; he felt that I had earned it.

But this one made me all bristly and rebellious. I can't describe, I really can't.

He told me he wouldn't mention it again for six months. Which was more than fair of him; more than I deserved, given my behavior. And he has, of course, been true to this.

It took me some time to cycle down the rebellion.

And today, I did it.

And I've accepted it, and will do it in the future, because Master said so.

And. I am very glad that I did.

Last post about it til it begins - 9 AM tomorrow to 9 AM Sunday! I pull an all-nighter for charity! Takin' one for a cause!

Because I gotta tell you. Seriously. Last year was grueling. The kind of thing where you stagger off to bed thinking, "Okay. I did that. Now I never have to do it ever again." But by 4 PM on Sunday, I was already planning for the next Blog-A-Thon...
