Hello to new reader [livejournal.com profile] aint2nuts - and whoever added me after Joule was run! (One bad thing about a big readers-of list - harder to keep track of who's reading.)

Why I keep track of who's reading
With the greetings and the running of programs and stuff - I just think it's only polite to know who's reading this silliness that I call a journal, and to welcome them. I know that I post a lot, so I do take it as a compliment when someone wants to devote a chunk of their LJ-reading time to me. I take it as a compliment on my writing style. As someone who'd like to make a living on said writing style... well. That's why. So. I write boring stuff a lot of the time, so I don't know why you guys read, except that it must have something to do with the way I present it, so thank you.

Did that make sense?

Vision just starting to get weird just now.

Stories
You guys are doing some incredible stuff in my tell-me-a-story post of yesterday. Keep it up! Individual responses are a-comin'. Everyone go read stuff.

I'm really glad I thought to do that post.

I have such creative people reading me...

Today's: a diatom.

Yay!
In less than a week, we get to see MorenaSangre and Farren, who are two of our favorite people in the world.

I never know what to DO with myself when my vision renders me work-nonfunctional.

I'm not good at just SITTING here.

Random thought: Is [livejournal.com profile] tablesaw's mom still reading me?

Medical: Vision full-on scrolling now.

Jessamyn always joked that they'd get married when they grew up. At those picnics she used to love... just sitting there with the rest of us, basking in the sun and the companionship, shredding blades of grass and watching them run. She'd watch Capri, all long red hair and skinny legs, chase Kieran, and she'd grin at Donna and roll her eyes and speculate on what Donna might demand as a dowry.

She was only half kidding. I don't know how many people knew that. She would plan things out in her head - sending Capri to the Sanctuary for a few years, then to college. Then the wedding. She planned her fade from the limelight as her daughter grew. She wanted to be a grandma. She wanted Capri to always be as happy as she was right then, when she was tackling Kieran and tickling him.

I left off this project soooo long ago... but now I've got Jessamyn on my mind! So. Here I go, filling in the blanks.

Name: Jessamyn Donnelly (ni'Tamra)

Orientation: Bi - mostly straight, really, with Annie Farrell being her only girlfriend ever.

Origin: Shayara

Significant Other(s): Fenris. Always Fenris. He was her first lover, and a true partner - but when she fell for Marcus, Fenris left her, unable to deal with her loving another man. Unable to see that she didn't love him any less.

Yes, he was eventually able to cope with her relationship with Annie. Yes, it's a double standard. No, Fenris is not perfect.

And it's Marcus that she married.

Child(ren): Capri Sara Donnelly.

Appearance: Average Tamrani height - read, "short". (Not as short as Capri will be at her full height, though.) And delicate. Essentially, just imagine Tiala na'Roth, because Jessa looked more like Tiala than anyone in generations... with caused no end of wondering, when she was a kid. Her hair was wavy and golden-blonde, and worn waist-length til she and Fenris broke up... she cut it to shoulder-length soon after. A gesture of grieving, or just frustration with the upkeep? Too late now to ask. Just as her hair was a purer gold than most Tamrani, her eyes were a purer, more concentrated color - but instead of distilling a more usual blue or grey, hers were a vivid leaf-green.

Had she lived old enough for wrinkles, they'd have been laugh-lines.

I got more presents!

[livejournal.com profile] murnkay and I have a competive thing regarding gifts. I gave him the Baby Jesus Butt Plug for his birthday in 2003, and had thus won. Unbeatable gift.

Until now, when he gave me The Complete Far Side.

Monkey wins. For now. Well, really Adam and I win, because we get all of that Larsony goodness, but you know what I mean...

And I got a nifty coffee mug and a book from [livejournal.com profile] tsarinanic... and I squeaked and kissed the cover of the book, because it was Just a Geek, by Wil Wheaton, and I *heart* me some Wil Wheaton! *bounce* Thank you, Nickie!

And I'd been wondering what [livejournal.com profile] tablesaw was getting me, because he said that I would love it and that Adam would hate it. And Adam and I have pretty similar tastes. So.

[livejournal.com profile] tablesaw gave me the complete series of Fancy LaLa!

Fancy LaLa is a lovely story about a girl and her phallic magical pen, and her dinosaur bunny fairies. My experience with Fancy LaLa is a lovely story about a girl at a con, an indie comics artist, a fabulously filthy-minded fan-sub, a car with an enormous lobster on it, a toy kiwi, and the catchphrase "Magnificent Growth!"

This story is illustrated. And once I learn how to operate my scanner, I will scan the picture, post it, and tell you this story. Whether you want to hear it or not.

Also, cards from [livejournal.com profile] pbmath and [livejournal.com profile] magenta_girl, and a save-the-date card for [livejournal.com profile] magenta_girl's wedding! *squee*!

Awesome mail day and I love all y'all. I have actually been napping for like 4 hours because my body is not of the good today. And this so rocked to wake up to.

Also my new bras from Victoria's Secret came, and I hafta walk around and see if I like them. I shrank out of the style I used to like. St00pid shrinking body.
