So.

What are you wearing?
What are you reading?

I'm wearing my fake-Doc oxfords, black socks, jeans, a Witchy Pirate Princess Shadesong shirt, and my hair down. Yeah. My hair is actually *not* tied back today, I'm just wearing a headband.

I'm reading Pat Cadigan's "Dervish is Digital" at work and Isobelle Carmody's "Obernewtyn" at home.

You?
Monday, August 19th, 2002 06:19 am (UTC)
Wearing: Black boots, mismatched-but-both-grey socks, blue jeans, Sisters of Mercy "Exxile on Euphoria" tshirt, bronze Torshammer, wedding and engagement rings.

Reading: Just finished "Miss Wyoming", by Doug Coupland, just starting "Writers on Comics Scriptwriting", edited by Mark Salisbury. (I'll get Neil Gaiman's chapter signed by him this evening; he's doing a signing in town.) Also reading "Bardic Voices: The Lark and the Wren", by Mercedes Lackey, from the Baen Free Library, in fits and starts when I remember to look for it.
Monday, August 19th, 2002 06:21 am (UTC)
I'm wearing a green work shirt, with the sleeves rolled up, khakis, and my "100,000 mile" loafers with black socks.

Reading? Well, I'm about to pick back up on the book about Nixon when I get home, but right now it's LJ and TeamSR.org, CNN, Knoxnews.com, etc...
Monday, August 19th, 2002 06:22 am (UTC)
Hee, Jammies. :-)

(kids just left for school, I'm being lazy)
Monday, August 19th, 2002 06:28 am (UTC)
Oops, forgot the reading bit: Pasquale's Angel" by Paul J. McAuley. It's sort of an alternate history Renaissance Steam Punk murder mystery sort of thing.
Monday, August 19th, 2002 06:28 am (UTC)
Blue jeans, with big pockets at each knee. My worn out, six year old sandals (that stink, ask Tarpo...) that I just can't seem to throw out. Old, holey underwear (gray). My clear, plastic belt that has metal holes all along it. Pinkish-purplish tee-shirt, with a weird collar. Dark gray bra. My Timex watch. My black rimmed plastic glasses. And my hair, blond, is not yet brushed.
Monday, August 19th, 2002 06:28 am (UTC)
I'm never awake before 10, so I'm wearing blue PJ bottoms and a black tee-shirt with Taz on the front.
Monday, August 19th, 2002 06:30 am (UTC)
Wearing: jeans overall type dress, black mock-neck vest from Chico's (I love Chico's stuff), sandals that I take off as often as possibl. Hair back, funky dangly earrings.

Reading: Catching up on the websites (neilgaiman.com, wilwheaton.net, theonion.com, Jake the Rake) while at work, possibly reading more of the Line War (been rereading Rhi's stuff for a week or two). At home: Philip K. Dick, Raymond Feist (Riftwar saga), thinking about rereading books 3 & 4 of Harry Potter. Yesterday, I read a book I've read before instead of preparing for class today or doing anything else constructive. }B-)
Monday, August 19th, 2002 06:33 am (UTC)
I'm wearing,

Black combat boots
Blue jeans
Leatherman
Black belt with celtic knotwork buckle
boxers, Joe with different shades of blue circles on them
a nice light grey short sleeved shirt
a light blue patterened buttond down short sleeve shirt, unbuttoned my heavy silver round weave necklace
watch, chrome with blue face
3 silver rings with various knot patterns
1 white gold wedding ring
glasses

and stuff

I'm reading High Fidelity, very close to the movie. I can see though how the movie changes made sense. London would have been less accessable to american audiences. Ian's (aka Ray) phone call was much better as a visit to the record store. The skaters and their band made the aprty at the end flow better. In the book it's just coming up now and it's more jarring this way. In the movie the progression makes more sense.

Next book, "The Naked God" which I think is approacheing the end of the train wreck that started back with the Reality Dysfunction. I don't mean that in a bad way, it's just that I can't look away. It started not so great but I hung in there and it became compelling, after a while. I also have like three D&D books I need to consume.

Reading: commuting is Sister Noon by Karen Joy Fowler, home is still the Celtic Seers' Sourcebook, since whenever I end up with proofreading jobs, the home reading goes by the wayside. (Proofreading Pharaoh Fantastic).
Monday, August 19th, 2002 06:47 am (UTC)

Monday, August 19th, 2002 06:53 am (UTC)

Reading: Rules of Engagement, by Elizabeth Moon; Komarr, by Lois McMaster Bujold, Highlander fanfic by Listen-r that [livejournal.com profile] enju was pimping to me last night. (It's fair return; she downloaded [livejournal.com profile] gryphonrhi's fic, so I'm willing to read HER favourite OFC, if she reads mine. :)
Monday, August 19th, 2002 07:18 am (UTC)
I'm wearing brown boots, red socks, black track-suit trousers, blue-grey polo shirt and the usual support bandage on my writing hand.

I've just finished reading Box Office Poison by Alex Robinson but have no new read in prospect until the end of the week apart from Alexander the Great related books for my dissertation section deadline. Unfortunately this does not include The House of Death by Paul Doherty. While it is Alexander-related, it's too much a fictional murder mystery to sneak in under the wire.

On the other hand, Friday is my long-awaited, oft-delayed pilgrimage to Hay-on-Wye, so I should have even more unread books to add to my shelves after that.
Monday, August 19th, 2002 07:19 am (UTC)
Wearing a bright coral T-shirt, navy blue long georgette skirt with coral roses (w/ line green leaves), black patent Birkenstocks, cheapie Claire's black plastic headband, silver necklace with iolite and moonstone drops and a silver crescent moon in the middle, pretty pale blue Swatch w/blue fabric band that has iridescent daisies on it, and my work badge (which is on a braided black satin cord that has a little US flag pin pinned to it). Oh, and nondescript beige underwear.

Reading: Just started Sir Apropos of Nothing last night (yay, paperback!). Also bought Lisa Goldstein's new novel (grr, hardback sucked me in at B&N. I was only there for 1 magazine and a book for Mom. I'd been so good--hadn't been there in at least a month. Bought 4 magazines, 2 books for me, and Mom's book). Also reading Tim Moore's The Grand Tour, about touring Europe in a rattletrap Rolls Royce while wearing a lilac velvet suit. Oh, and also just got The Bad Girl's Guide to the Party Life.

Monday, August 19th, 2002 07:31 am (UTC)
Well we have a guest in the computer room now. So I'll just pretend I'm naked. Later when I take a shower, I'll thing of being on LJ, if that helps.
Monday, August 19th, 2002 07:33 am (UTC)

I'm all boring today. I'm in khakis and a blue v-neck t-shirt, and I'm wearing my new black slides so they'll be a little broken-in by this weekend and the wedding. meep. Reading? Well, at work, just the usual--LJ, boingboing.net, the scattering of journals I follow that aren't on LJ, most significantly www.bigtrendy.com, etc. ad nauseum. At home? I think I finished everything I'm in the middle of, so it's just a matter of picking something new: Honeymoon, Revenge of the Cootie Girls, The Instance of the Fingerpost, the rest of the to read stack, or something that needs re-read.
Monday, August 19th, 2002 08:25 am (UTC)
I'm wearing a bunch of smelly clothes - just went for my walk. Soon to be nekkid (temporarily) ~ then who knows after that. :)

I'm wearing a Real Ultimate Power! (http://www.realultimatepower.net) t-shirt, very comfy grey slacks from the Gap and Simple shoes that happen to be blue and gold, my school colors.

I'm reading Dickens's Our Mutual Friend, but it was in the wrong room last night when I went to bed, so I read some book that was on my desk called How to Order and Eat in Chinese. Also, I'm halfway through the New Yorker food issue.

Monday, August 19th, 2002 05:57 pm (UTC)
Wearing today was these blinding neon red plaid pants that went with the hair. :o) And some respectable enough for work kind of shirt that I can't even remember, along with the Boots Which Make Me Tall, and a clip to keep the redness out of my face.

I've run out of books to read, and it's driving me batty. The last one was the second installation of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time.
