Monday.
I manage to haul myself out of bed in time to join Adam and Elayna for their morning bunny hunt. Feeling slightly better... still congested, but not compltely exhausted. We see many bunnies. :)
We get to the airport without incident, wait a long time, get on the plane, et cetera. I wait a long time for the drinks to arrive so I can take my last DayQuil. They actually have a small meal, but 90% of it is dairy, even though Adam specifically requested nondairy for Miss Kid (he's writing a letter today). I read Brad Meltzer's "The Millionaires" (yes, it's a legal thriller, but it's by the guy who's going to be writing Green Arrow; stop smirking). Elayna reads "Bunnicula". Adam reads "The Eyre Affair" by Jasper Fforde. The plane trip passes uneventfully.
On the way down, my ears won't pop. And when they do partially pop, they hurt like hell. Never fly when you're congested. So thankfully Elayna is asleep, because I'm catapulted into my first panic attack in years. With the benefit of hindsight, I think it was the combination of the nonstop pain in my ears and the complete cutoff of sound... I could hear a faint whirring sound, but no voices, and I was horribly disoriented and was absolutely sobbing for no goddamn reason. Which scares the shit out of me, because I thought I was done with panic attacks. Thankfully, I'm able to pull myself together by the time the plane lands, and Elayna didn't catch any of it.
Took the cab ride from hell home. No seatbelts. Driver had to swerve to avoid a stopped car, and I swear I thought we were all gonna die. Got home, Adam opened his gifts, Elayna had dinner and dessert and went to bed. I had a walk and dinner, and we watche TiVOed Gilmore Girls and Invader Zim and went to bed. And I'm still freaked out by the panic attack.
And that, for now, is that.
