Still have no childcare options for Monday and Tuesday.

I guess I can do one of three things... call in sick Monday and Tuesday (I have only enough vacation time to cover my trip to FL, but I have sick time), call in sick on Monday and beg to bring her in for a half-day Tuesday ([livejournal.com profile] yendi can take her Tuesday afternoon), or call the boss, explain the situation, and ask what she wants me to do. She was asking pointedly on Friday if I had a childcare solution for Monday and Tuesday, so calling in sick? She'd know I was lying. She wouldn't call me on it, but she'd know.

*sigh* I don't know what the hell to do. Suggestions/opinions welcome.

Yeah, you do. You just don't want to do it. But you HAVE to be honest with your boss, at this point. Just tell her the whole situation - be up front, and ask her how she wants you to handle it. If nothing else, she'll appreciate the honesty.

*sigh* Yeah. I know. I just want a miracle solution to fall out of the sky.

We're going to call the YMCA when they open and beg them to take her even though it's past their deadline (she was in a YMCA-sponsored after-school care program located at her school this year). I don't like that Y. I don't think they give the kids enough personal attention. And if they can't take her, that's it, I've got to call the boss. This sucks.

Do you have any friends or family who are at home during the day? Would you be comfortable with Elayna being with them for the day? Have you asked them?

None - all my family's in Florida, and all of my friends have day jobs. :( [livejournal.com profile] yendi's schedule is usually flexible, but things at his job are so chaotic that he can't work from home until Wednesday, and Mike, the other flexible-schedule friend, i s teaching tae kwon do at a summer camp all week...

So could Mike take Elayna with him, maybe?

Don't know... he hasn't offered (he *did* take her to the zoo last week, though). It probably wouldn't be a good thing. I managed to get it covered anyway. :)
