So Monday was her first day of camp. Thankfully, they transferred her to a different cabin - she'd been assigned to one for 8 to 10 year olds, and now she's with the 6 and 7 year olds. Admittedly, she'd be more intellectually stimulated in the higher cabin, but I think she'll do better socially with the girls her own age - especially because she's the height of the average 5-year-old (she's 7, for those just tuning in). Don't want her getting teased. Or becoming the coddled pet.
So. She went to the new cabin. Had fun. They do arts and crafts, swimming, science projects, all sorts of stuff... but no horseback riding, as that's ages 8 and up. :( She likes everyone in her cabin, but she can't remember anyone's names - the only name she remembers is of one of her counselors. Ah well. Par for the course.
She saw Scooby-Doo this weekend with Grandma and Grandpa and Baby Scotty ("He's not a baby anymore, Mommy! He's actually a kid now!") and loved it. I still haven't seen it. Will probably wait til she gets it on DVD. Has anyone here seen it? Opinions?
Essentially, she's doing well. She's happy. Which is a Good Thing.
