So last night I went to the free They Might Be Giants concert with
yendi and
kellinator, and met up with
glenn5 and
ilexx and
ilexx's LJless friend Justin there. One thing that occurred to me: I went to their free concert last year on the same exact weekend, the last weekend of June. Which, last year, was my first Friday in Atlanta. And last year I was just with
yendi and so happy, and last night was like a full-circle thingie... the only different thing being that now I have friends. :)
So. Met
ilexx and Justin, who are both veryvery cool, and
ilexx is even prettier in person than she is in her usericons! And had *lots* of fun dancing... wore myself out during "The Guitar" and "Boss of Me" back-to-back. Much bouncing. Much hip movement.
yendi likes the hip movement very muchly, but I, umm, kinda hurt his back at one point.
The dancing, btw, is a great fun workout. Definitely felt the burn in my calves and abs. Also, we bought "Mink Car" and "No", and I got a pretty new dichroic-glass-beads bracelet. Such pretty bracelets. I want to get one for each of my chick friends for Chanukah.
So yes. Wonderful happy time. :)
This morning: Got up way too early (read: 8 AM) for the Powerpuff Girls screening. Which was organized *way* better than the Lilo & Stitch screening. The movie was very good... not as great as it could've been, but then, we view all things Powerpuff with high expectations. The kids will love it. The adults will like it.
Went home. Paid bills. Went grocery shopping, as we were out of *everything*. Bought floor-plan porn.
Now, understand, in Florida they had floor plans in the newspaper every damn week. A whole section of just info on new communities, and floor plans out the wazoo.
In Atlanta, they apparently expect you to buy a house without seeing the layout. You cannot get a damn floorplan to save your life. Nothing in the papers. Nothing on the builders' websites. Nothing.
So I had to buy the big fat floorplan magazine. I'm in withdrawal, you see. I need to look at floorplans. I need to imagine what that house would look like if it were mine, which room would be my office, which kid, current and future, would get which room, all of that stuff.
Yes, I'm weird. And now I am going to go read.

Now, these are silly questions, but remember I have no real idea about kids, um, so she has to sit in the back seat, right? and um is there anything special I should know about do? I don't want to ruin your kid.

She sits in the backseat, yes. Dad will help you install the booster seat. Nothing special that you don't already know... don't feed her anything dairy, is all. She's allowed popcorn and nondairy candy at the movie - they generally have a kids pack. She won't drink anything carbonated, so you may wanna smuggle a juicebox in your purse in case they don't have anything noncarbonated. Mom can provide you with one.
