Elayna lost her first tooth! Yes, the one that's been loose since late January. Actually, she didn't lose it, per se.... the dentist pulled it when she fell asleep. But don't tell her that. :)
Mom asked me what the Tooth Fairy gives kids these days. I said, "Elayna thinks 50 cents."
Mom: "50 cents?!? I was going to give her 5 dollars!"
Me: "5 dollars? Ummno. This kid has a lot of teeth, okay? I do not have that kind of money."
Seriously. Elayna read a book in which the Tooth Fairy gave 50 cents. I asked her how much the Tooth Fairy gives these days. She said 50 cents.
Mom and I compromised. 5 dollars, with a note from the Tooth Fairy saying that 5 dollars is for the first tooth only, and further payments will be $1.00.
Other Elayna news: Her cabin got 2nd place in the water carnival, and she got 2nd place in bowling. Go Elayna!
And I was secretly very gratified by Mom's weary question, "Does she give you a hard time about her vitamin?"
Elayna does not like to take her vitamin. We're managed to get a system down - she gets some grapes and Adam does a countdown, and she takes the vitamin.
We forgot to tell Mom the system.
They've been having High Drama with her for a month. No dessert, no TV, because she wouldn't take her vitamin. A screaming fit yesterday. Which we have not gotten in god knows how long. A month. And only now did Mom cave and admit it. :)
Me: "Just have her take hers when you take yours. Give her a countdown from 5. And give her some grapes."
Mom: "A countdown? And grapes? That works?"
Me: "Every time."
Am I evil to gloat? :)

OMG!!!
I never got money except for one time whenever I fell down and lost 4 teeth at one time. BUt then all I got was a quarter.
Most of the time I got a note on a post it note that said "Thanks for the tooth." signed with a bad curly handwriting from the "tooth fairy"
